Game Description
Escape from a facility with a monster running loose in its halls!

How does your game tie into the theme?
A Monster is a sort of creature but ascribed with extremely evil charactaristics. This game has a big creature, and leaves you to decide if it's a monster, you, or if there's no such thing at all.

This was really ambitious first game for a jam! I love the concept and the monster definitely sounds gross and looks pretty spooky with those glowing eyes.

I couldn't get past the first monster and there's a lot missing but I'd say this was a really awesome attempt! Good job

Nice submission especially for a first one, like the survivor horror feel, and don't mind the lack of mouse/strafe in these type of games.

Some note about how to move would have been nice (starting with the start menu).

I understand that 3D is difficult (one major reason I have steered away from it, but having the camera go through the wall is annoying.)

Lastly, the sound seemed to disappear at times.

But overall great submission, thanks for letting us enjoy it.

Creepy monster! I included it in my compilation video series for the Godot Wild Jam #56, if you’d like to check it out. :)

Interesting entry! First I couldnt really get past the monster, but I lured it in the first half of the room and closed the gate behind. The atmosphere was cool as well :)

I can't run vulkan :(

Developer

Is there anything I can do to make this playable for you? Or is it just a Godot 4.0 thing?

Submitted

If you switch the rendering to opengl 3 I will be able to run it I think.

Nice work on getting your first Wild Jam in!

I like that you're trying a lot of things with the lighting especially the shadow on the title-card.  I like that you couldn't really see the whole monster and what you could see was looming.

I missed having the ability to strafe but falling over when dying was a nice touch.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah one of the base ideas I had for the game was not being able to fully see the monster. I was originally going to have it made up of 5 or so separate parts, even. Part of why I have the turning with A and D is just because I didn't wanna bother with mouse controls, but I'm curious: if you could strafe with Q and E, do you think would that feel better?

Makes sense.  Personally I'd prefer strafing with A/D and turning with Q/E.
