ba-ba-ba-bok!
That was a fun little experience. The sound and notifications made collecting items very juicy and satisfying, and there were plenty to collect. Lots of dopamine hits all over the place, very nice.
The difficulty was quite low, which isn't a bad thing but there was definitely very little friction. The only time I got hit by a fox was when it happened to be right on the edge of a new screen I was transitioning into and I had no chance to avoid it.
I'd love to see a longer more complex gamer in this style. Keep it up!
I really the "pow pow pow pow" when you identify an object! XD
I also like some pre-discover denomination : "metal spaghettis"...
That was fun, well done!
I think I found a bug: I died after having collected everything (because the fox was stuck and thus prevented me to come back to the spawning point). When I rreappeared, I was able to build the incubator... And when I died after winning I was still able to build the incubator. Not sure if it was intended, it feels like the "ability to build the incubator" does not reset on death.
A simple cardboard box is the best stealth device, hahaha!
I liked how you’ve made all the important objects emit an animated effect, it made it easy to identify what you need to collect and where to assemble the incubator in the end of the game. The audio was nice and funny, especially that triumphant chicken sound.
This was cute, I loved the background music and sound effects! The world felt interesting with lots of decoration, obstacles and areas to explore. I liked that you identified stuff as you collected the books and other materials, the flavor text definitely added to my enjoyment collecting all the stuff.
It would have been nice to have some incentive to take the box off once I found it (maybe you can’t pick stuff up while using it?).
Overall nice work, the style and feel of this game were fun to play!
Thank you for playing!
Yeah, the box was super OP.
The flavor text was one of my favorite aspects of the game, too. @deaf_fish did the original design and coding for it, and did a great job.
Really appreciate the feedback
Funny idea to have a smart chicken. Nice music. Gameplay didn't really hold my attention a lot, but I did finish it. And there is no reason not to use the box once you get it. And the first time I ended up directly on a fox when entering into a different area. So probably the fixed screen idea was not done great.
I totally agree and I'm impressed that you figured out how to used the box.
We wanted the metal gear solid mechanic because it was a fun throw-back.
Originally, you were supposed to pick it up before some complex fox-patrol part of the level, but we ran out of time.
I really appreciate the feedback, and thanks for playing!
Cute game! Love the chicken and fox art. The music was whimsical. Nice job!
Thank you!
Cute and funny lil game. I think the little notifications that pop up stick around for a bit longer than necessary but not a huge deal. Man that background track is a banger
Thanks!
I agree and thank you for the feed back. It ended up being a super busy week, so our play testing phase lasted about 5 minutes.
Cute game! I liked how the stuff you collect has a silly name before you identify it. Some gave me a chuckle, like steel spaghetti, or Eggs identified as Eggs.
Thank you for playing!
I think it was deaf_fish who added that feature. I agree, it was really cleverly done.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the feedback
