This was really cool. there are a surprising amount of mechanics you were able to squeeze in and have actual puzzles built around them, which is really impressive! I thought the game was fairly intuitive, really the only part I struggled on at all was the first set of jumps in one of the early rooms lol.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Puzzle design is a pretty new thing to me so I appreciate the feedback! It was quite fun trying to work backward from the solution to create the puzzles so I'll probably end up using that experience again in the future.

I'm glad you were able to figure out the jumping with some trial and error! In retrospect I think I had way too many jumping challenges for how janky the actual jumping mechanic was. XD

Awesome game! Nice puzzles and cool mechanic with ordering that girl around :)

Lots of Z-fighting going on. I was thinking maybe gridmap could have been effective for mapping this game out. Also some some gaps between building blocks and such. Could easily be avoided with gridmap I think :)

Impressive how you came up with this story and implemented it all solo. Very good theme interpretation I think.

I had fun beating this game! :)

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I definitely could have cleaned up the overlapping blocks in the levels a bit more. Gridmap probably would have been worth checking out, but I haven't really used it and originally the levels weren't meant to be blocks until I realized it was a faster way to build them. XD

I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the story, since that's the part of development I enjoy the most! I don't think I did the best job of conveying it but I learned a lot. Good work to you on your entry as well and have some early congratulations on first place!

I’ve played the game to the end, it was an enjoyable puzzle game!
I liked the general atmosphere created by the music and the visuals, its calm and mysterious vibe put me in the mood of solving puzzles.

I’ve played without the walkthrough for the most part and I found most of the puzzles intuitive to solve, the only room where I needed it was the one with the key that you need to get from another character. By that time I didn’t know telekinesis had a range, which is actually demonstrated quite well in the next room, perhaps changing the order of these two rooms could help.

I’ve noticed a bug with severe camera clipping: when you are standing as close as possible to a wall to your right, you can make the camera to look into this wall.

Developer(+1)

The first key puzzle seems to have stumped almost all of the players, so I'll definitely be trying to work out where the design went wrong on that one! I intend to make a post-jam update and I think I'll end up swapping several rooms so good feedback.

The camera clipping bug is already fixed in the post jam version... The SpringArm node has the default margin set way too low for how it works, which means at grazing angles of any flat surface it clips through.  Good catch on that one!

Thank you for all the feedback and congrats on your cool submission as well! :)

Hi strutcode,

This was a really fun game, congrats on the entry! :)

It had a really nice atmosphere of mystery to it. To puzzle were great, introducing the mechanics one by one as you should.

Liked the green bean projections :D

Honestly, this was a perfect little jam game experience for me. :)

The only constructive feedback I can give is the movement and jumping feels a bit l clanky and slidey like it wasn't truly in sync with the animations.

Developer

Thanks for the comments! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere and puzzles. :)

For most of development the player and partner were green and pink capsules and the "projection" asset never got made so a green capsule it remained. Surprisingly few players have commented on it though ahaha

Animation is one of my weaker points so that's definitely something I'm going to try to get better at. I appreciate the constructive criticism!

Man that was sick! I really liked the look and feel of it, especially playing in third person with a companion. The puzzles were not too hard, but made me think a couple of times, so I would say it was a very nice experience! And especially for a jam game made by one person.

I also loved the mythological undertones! Well done!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! It was indeed a huge undertaking for one person, but it was a fun experience making it anyway. :D

I was definitely inspired somewhat by the classic mythos, though maybe a bit subconsciously. My main inspiration came from a song so perhaps they're also indirectly related in that way!

I'm glad to hear you didn't struggle too much with the puzzles. I tried to make them interesting without making them impossible through the solo developer lens.

Nice puzzle game, I really liked the aesthetic. The mouse sensitivity felt really high. I tried switching to a controller, since I noticed the (A) hint in the dialog, and figured out it wasn’t talking about the “A” key. The controller look sensitivity was really low. Having a sensitivity option would have helped. Other than that, nice work!

Developer

I can see that the controls suffered quite a bit, so I'll take that feedback into account for next jam. Maybe I'll work on a solid multi-input character controller with key rebinding in between jams to stop this from happening. Anyway, thanks for playing and I hope you had fun in spite of the troubles!

Really cool puzzle game. I loved it. I had no issues solving all puzzles and finally beat the boss. Good Job!

The only thing I got laughing hard is on the final button the boss can die multiple times xD

Developer

Thanks for playing and rating! :D

I had to see the boss bug for myself, that is quite hilarious, especially if one button is pressed and you just jump up and down on the other. A bit of unintended dragon torture...

Cool puzzle game! Though, I can see where you ran out of time. I also found out that the dragon can be rekilled over and over again for silly effect :P

Developer

Ahaha, you're totally right. Well I guess it's better than being able to spawn infinite dragons which was a thing before. The time crunch was really real on those last levels but I'm going to wrap up and polish them to upload after the jam because I had such a blast making this one. Thanks for playing!

Really solid puzzle gameplay! I had an issue where the music didn't play during the final boss scene but besides that it was a vibe. Great work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! You're not the only one. There was a breaking bug that prevented the last two areas from being played normally. The jam hosts were gracious enough to let me fix it but I broke the music for both levels in the process. Such is the jam life. :D

Nice job! I liked the story you created and the order mechanic. I also got stuck on the key level and couldn't figure out what to do. Glad you put a button to skip to different levels though. The dragon was very cool!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I wanted the boss battle to be much more exciting but I absolutely ran out of time to polish up the last two levels. I'm glad you got a chance to enjoy most of the content anyway, and I've added a walkthrough for future players in case the puzzles are too nonsensical. :D

I love your game :)

The atmosphere and music is enthralling, the puzzles were cool, and I loved the ability to lead your partner to your cursor! You understand gamer instinct too well, because my immediate thought was to point her into the lava haha.

Admittedly I think I'm too dumb for it though, couldn't get past the key level.

Developer

Thank you! I'm really happy with how this entry turned out, even if it's not perfect. It's funny that you mention the directing into lava thing because it's a natural result of the pathfinding being limited to walkable areas, but I actually wanted to add some dialogue around that sort of thing for a touch of humor. Alas, time was too limited for such details.

I appreciate the feedback on the puzzles... I tried not to make them too hard but when you know all the solutions it's easy to misjudge! I've added a walkthrough to the description for future players who might get stuck. :)
