The graphical presentation is quite nice.
It took me some time until i noticed how to play (i gues)
After clearing the path they went into combat and both did die.
Did i get something wrong, can i influence the combat? I like to give it another try.

One of the few games where you don't have to click through walls of text. The preview looked exciting, but unfortunately the opponent just runs around randomly. It doesn't look really well realised, but the idea looks exciting! And it's a bit small and could be zoomed in closer.

Noted on the scale of the map! I now see that it may be difficult to make out the various elements with such a small area to interact with. Diegetic UI is one hell of a task :v
Like the others, I have little idea what I'm supposed to be doing. I assume I clear a path from the top doorway to who I assume is Durgen so he can exit the map, but I'm not sure what to do about the skeleton. I've tried digging a couple rooms for skele to get lost in, but he somehow (rng, perhaps) always ends up in Durgen's way, and they endlessly swing their swords to no effect.
I LOVE the opening of the game, the way the book opens into the level is really well done. The level itself feels way too big, a smaller play area and some direction, even a blurb on the game's itch page, would go a long way.
All in all still a released game jam game with a really neat menu. Thanks for giving us a game to play!!
Appreciate the encouragement OlManMumbler! We did unfortunately run out of time and the Diegetic UI was a bit of a bad call on my end. We'll work on it and great to hear that people love the menu! It was a lot of work with SubViewports and Input passing, etc.
It was unclear what to do, or what the goal was. I do like the mechanic of creating a path, but the description didn't seem to match the art. At least it looked like both characters (and unclear who you are) had swords. I made a maze from the skeleton to the other character, but maybe I should have done the other direction?
