Great work on this! I really liked the animations of the little guys jumping around - and smashing them was a fun idea! I wish the area of the smash was a little bigger, and the flying guys in my opinion were a little too tough since if you didn't catch them at the edge of the screen they pretty much always made it to the tower.

Neat! I really enjoyed using the fist to squish the little guys and even though I wasn’t able to last too long, I had fun with it. I suspect I undervalued the fire attack. Clearly a lot of love for God OH in this game lol. Well done!

Liked the different gestures you had to do to get rid of different kinds of enemies. Nice job on this!

This game is really fun, I like the mechanics and how the yellow enemies are crushed haha, I think that with more worked and polished art it would have improved a lot.

Great work! :D

When I saw the godot placeholder in the thumbnail I was worried, but this is remarkably fun smashing and burning, and you were very creative in re-using the same placeholder image to create distinct enemy types (I particularly like the flyers!).  The squash effect is very satisfying. It took me a little bit to realize the power of the burn since I started out using it on the more durable red guys, I take it the red enemies are resistant to the burn DoT?

Developer(+1)

I'm actually glad you worked out the fire tactics, the red guys have twice the health as the other two.

When I started making this I set out with pure game feel in mind,  and decided an interesting side challenge would be to make the entire game with just the default godot icon.  I appreciate you playing!

I enjoyed the camera shake when you smash, and seeing a score to beat. The end was abrupt, looks like it crashes or hangs if you get a negative number? I thought when my health went to 0 I would die, but I didn't. Took getting a negative, though then it froze. Nice gameplay overall

Developer

Yeah, there is no proper win/lose condition, just a call to quit the scene when you go negative in followers.  I'd aimed to put a whole loop in, giving the option of either starting back at 1, or starting from your high score, and it just didn't make it in time.  I appreciate you taking the time to give feedback, thanks for playing my game!

Smashing things is fun! The animations are well made and I found it funny how you used the simplicity of the Godot logo to your advantage.

However, currently it seems that the best strategy is to use the fire magic constantly as it is much more effective than spamming the smash button. With the health regeneration, I was able to stay alive indefinitely just by moving my cursor all over the screen while holding RMB.

I think it would be great to have various enemies, needing more decision-making from the player on who to smash first, as currently, you just have to kill everything on sight.

Wishing you the best on your gamedev journey!

I've got two more enemies I'd started work on that didn't make it in, with a total of three more possible I'd drafted ideas for.  Just ran out of time; the other enemies would have fixed the problem as well, they were both focused on forcing the player away from the tower, and resisting fire.

You're totally right, fire is way more powerful than it seems at first.  I'm glad you picked up on that, I was wondering after my kiddo playtested how many others would neglect fire entirely and try to win by just smashing.  I appreciate you taking the time to give feedback, thanks for playing my game!

Nice, pretty fun! I know the assets are just placeholders but I love that you shaped the godot jpg into a fist lol

It's super easy to just hold fire out and whip it around the screen and keep everything at bay, so it might have been nice to include like a timer or something to limit it. Would also be nice to see additional attacks or something as you gain more worshippers. That being said using the 2 abilities you have to kill a bunch of bugs is undeniably pretty satisfying

I like to smash things.. In my computer was a little bit slowly and sometimes had issues with the sounds but I think it was my computer issue. Good Job.

Very fun experience! Smashing things in this game is really funny lol

You could have used some free graphic assets IMO, these godot icons kinda mess the visual part, but of course it didn't change what I feel about the gameplay :)

This was fun!

Grate game. You know what you are doing when it comes to game feel. I really like the hand how you built it out of the Godot logo and the squash animation felt good and bouncy.

Submitted(+1)

Long live Godot logo, congrats man, it was satisfying to squash the little buggers, i like the fire effect too, nice work

Glad you had fun! Thanks so much for playing!!

Really cool game! Absolutely love the smashing sound effects with the bouncy punch animations. But there didn't seem to be a game over page for retrying and the game just paused when i died.

Developer(+1)

You are annoyingly correct, there is no game over/retry screen; early on I made the game just quit out when you died for testing, and just...never got around to a game over screen before the deadline.  Thanks for playing, I appreciate the feedback!

Cool game! The mechanics are super smooth and visual effects for the attacks are really fun. I couldn't quite figure out what the right-click magic did but maybe I didn't play long enough. Great job!

Developer

RMB sets enemies on "fire", which deals damage over time.  I originally wanted to limit it with a cool-down, but that never quite got in there.  I appreciate your feedback, thanks a lot for playing my game!

Ahh that makes sense now! Thanks for checking out my game too :)

Really fun mechanics. :D

Liked the squish and squash animations, punching and burning feels pretty good, I found the idea of using only godot icons interesting and it fits well together only the background is a bit weird as it get too low res, probably a black void could fit better but thats just personal preferrence, got around 700 worshipers !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The reason for the background might make more sense if I tell you, it's just the Godot logo once again, stretched waaaay out.  The tower sits on one of the eyes ;)  There is literally one .png file in the game, and it's the default godot icon.  700 is just about the area the tower becomes self-sufficient, you basically "beat" the game.  I appreciate your time!

Everything is Godot XD

Developer(+1)

Well yeah, it's the fabled story of the "Tower of God OH" fighting off a swarm of bugs with the help of the ones that believe in it ;) Maybe a metaphor in there somewhere... Thanks for playing!

I like how you manufactured sprites by modulating the Godot logo and arranging it into shapes. That made me chuckle.
