I really enjoyed the gameplay loop. Great work on the powerups. The only thing that was missing were more sfx.

Thank you for playing! I definitely wanted to put more sound effects for the weapons but ran out of time to properly test them before the jam ended so I left this build as the final one. I already have an updated build working so they should be added pretty soon :)

A very fun game! Controls were a little wonky, but I played it for longer than I thought I would, which is huge! Awesome work!

I'm glad you liked it! I was experimenting with the Command design pattern to make players and enemies use the same motion component so that probably affected the movement a bit. Thank you for playing!

I really liked the survivors style as a sidescroller, I can easily see playing this with more abilities.  It's a bummer the level is the same but that's the way of the jam.

There was so much more I wanted to add but the jam timer is brutal lol. I am definitely going to clean it up and add more to this project.

very cool concept, cute character sprite and animations, solid gameplay loop, i enjoyed the abilities that i did have and i would like to see how this game would look if it were fleshed out! as a previous comment mentioned i would've liked a stronger emphasis on the theme, and it would be cool if there was level variety or maybe even procedurally generated levels. overall very solid and fun!

This game definitely changed a lot during development lol. Originally it was going to be a top-down survivors game where you defend a vault that could also be upgraded to fight back. The original idea I had was  a lot more "tower-defense" themed and I am definitely going to spend a few weeks adding the things I had planned. (And untangling the mess of code written at the end :)

I really like vampire survivors and I this concept excited me. I would have like to have seen more platforming to move up the "tower" and I Think that could have helped sell the theme more as well. Powers are cool but the game gets pretty laggy as it progresses . Perhaps a exe version would hold up longer. I got to level 12 but didn't know if there was an end or how far it was so I stopped. I would have like to have know levels of my abilities and perhaps what upgrading was doing. The orbs should spread out from each other. I had like 10 all smooshed to one side.

 I want to keep working on this after the jam ends so your feedback is really nice. Moving up and tower would be really cool to implement so I want to try doing that next after cleaning up the spaghetti I made just to finish the game. I definitely wanted to add some weapon info/polish and Risk of Rain like descriptions to the side with their bonuses. I implemented a spawn cap for the enemies to try and help the lag on html exports but they still ended up being too powerful in the end.
