Nicely done! I was sometimes baffled when I got hit, although nothing really hit me. Sometimes it was because the range of the weapon wasn't really great and other times I still got hit by just died enemies (in the state where they are falling). Also the "leveling" happened way too less for my taste and I wasn't fully understanding what each of the two button were doing, as the labels stated the same thing. It took me a while until I understood when and how I can "restore" those sites and I still don't know what these will do, honestly.

But it has potential and for the short amount of time you described you spent on it, it's in a good, playable state.
Well done! :)

Thank you so much for the feedback! In the updated version I plan to have hit feedback as well as make the game more responsive. I appreciate the feedback and I'll be taking everything into account :)

Great job! It took me a while to understand that I should look around the map, as I thought I was defending the fire n.n" It would also be nice to know when you recieve/do some damages by some visual effect :)

Other than that, nice game! Keep it up! :D

Thank you so much for the feedback! I’ll take it into account for when I update the game :)

I enjoyed the art style, although found the reach of the enemies to not exactly line up with where they could hit me. Gameplay loop is simple and easy to pick up. Would love to see a variety of weapons, the sword being good for charging at enemies rather than swinging added some unexpected variety. (Saw your comment about not having time to work out the hammer swing. Curse you, game jam limitations!). Having a sound when you choose to trash or take an item would help add to the choice having some weight. Also killing multiple enemies quickly is quite loud on the poor ears.

Great job, would love to see what you can do with it after the jam! 10/10 Shhhh... button.

Thank you for the feedback! There are sounds meant for the trashing and taking a weapon, but I unfortunately couldn't get it to work in itch with the time limit I had. I'll definitely be playing around with audio when I update the game. :)

For a second I thought I had to swing the hammer with my mouse. Then I was a bit disappointed to find I could just push them.

Nice graphics.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I tried making it a swing component, but I could never figure out how to make it more swingy if that makes any sense.

I really liked the art, though because of the fire I didn’t feel encouraged to explore. Not sure if that was intentional or not. I did notice when I went outside of the fire area sometimes enemies would spawn directly on top of me. I didn’t see any feedback about taking damage, but did die. The hammer seemed better to me, but after reading other comments sounds like maybe the sword is good? I felt a little confused with lack of feedback/understanding.

Solid first entry!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The sword is meant to be better, and it completely skipped my mind to add a feedback for damage. I'll be sure to update, thanks mate!

I see this is your first jam! Congrats on submitting. The gameplay/gameloop is nice and simple, but the attacks need more feedback. Some sort of particle effects or splash on hit would help a lot with visual clarity. Great entry!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I plan to update the game and make it cleaner and I completely forgot about particle effects.

For some reason I thought the sword was way worse than the hammer when I first got it, so I always trashed the roll when I got a sword and I kept dying. But then I gave the sword another shot and noticed that it's super OP when used correctly! Really fun and really nice graphics!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! I’ll be sure to make things more clear in my next game

Cool visual style! I think I'm missing a bit directions, though. According to the description here, I have to find keys, but currently, there are trees all around me. I did pick up a sword that one of the enemies dropped, but I died shortly after. Is there anything that I've missed?

Thanks for the feedback! I think this version I uploaded has a 2% chance for the keys to be dropped. I’ll be sure to make it more clear in the next one
