As Substain said, some stuff could've been polished little bit more because sometimes running into middle for food doesn't get detected, but overall I found game very cute and I love how it's multiple small games in one, well done!
Thank you for playing!
soo, a collection of minigames, I see ;)
I think some of the mechanics could use a bit more polish, e.g. running into the selections e.g. for food seems a bit off sometimes. I think the graphics are nice, and the sfx work well with the game. Neat!
Thank you for playing and the feedback! Totally agree on the lack of polish in those areas. I learned I should test more without visualizing the collision shapes to see things more from the final player’s perspective.
Loved it, that was a lot of fun! I most enjoyed playing tag; as simple as it is, running away from and chasing my little monster was delightful! I'd love to see this game idea expanded. I think a full version of this would be really well-received on mobile. I can imagine my nieces and nephew loving this kind of game loop and art style on a tablet :)
I couldn't quite tell where my collision box was and ended up selecting the wrong activity a few times by accident just by running too close to them. But I still had fun. Nice art, sound, and animation too! Really well done :)
Thank you for playing and the kind words!
The note on the collision box is definitely true. I did most of my play-testing with collision shapes visible so it was clear how to avoid and I really should ensure I get more playing in as a player.
I love the idea of playing sequential minigames within the same playground! Fun game with graphics that kept me smiling (specially the purple evolution, it looks quite funny to me hahah). Great work! :)
FYI sometimes when I ran to the bottom of the arena during the catch minigame, the creature was not able to catch me -- not sure if I was doing something wrong or maybe this was a minor bug?
Thank you for playing, and glad you enjoyed the art! The purple one was based on an axolotl :). I don’t think I have run into the issue you reported, but definitely a bug. The creature should always be able to catch you.
Very good game. The catch mini-game is the cutest thing ever. The care level indicator is bugged I think. You can also bring up the end game panel by pressing space at any time. I'm not sure if that's intended or a leftover debugging thing.
Thank you for playing!
This game jam I am noticing a huge difference in what UIs work in different Browsers. Would you mind sharing which you used that the care progress wasn’t progressing in? The end game panel was definitely left over. I said I need to remember to remove it when I put it in for debugging, and then forgot of course.
I believe I was on chromium when I played it. That's interesting though, I should be testing my game in different browsers a bit more extensively.
That is one of my big learnings from this Jam. I was testing in duck duck go while developing which is probably the least likely to come up, and should have tested in more typically used browsers.
Nice little mini-games overhaul !
Love the egg sfx at the beginning.
Not really understood why the pet is waiting always for boots when choosing a mini-game.
I would like to see more mini games and bigger arena ! Good job
Thank you for playing! The boots means that it want's to play tag next I think (icon on the left), you still get care points for playing a different activity, but I think you get a slight penalty if it's not it's preferred one.
Nice work! This was super cute, loved the art, audio and the variety of games. I like seeing the wario ware randomness but having a through-line to tie it all together is very satisfying.
Thank you for the kind words! I watched some wario ware play throughs to get ideas :)
It didn't show care level or anything for me? I couldn't tell what was going on, and everything happened real fast.
The monster sounds are very good.
Thank you for the comments. I am sorry things were so unclear for you. The care level should go up as you play games, which you trigger if you run over the different icons. I am realizing if you wait a long time to trigger a game and don’t use the option to turn off losing care over time it would take a lot to start seeing progress.
Great fun. I really liked the I catch you, you catch me mini game. Reminded me of playing with my dogs. Nicely polished. Everything had audio events, which is rare to see in game jam games.
Very charming art too.
Thank you for the kind words! The catch you, you catch me game had a lot of bugs to work through, but overall I am happy with how it turned out. If we had more time we thought about adding mud piles that slow you, or spots you could run over to speed you up to add more variance, but alas bugs were the priority.
Cool concept
