Yeah, I get what you mean, you're the first to say the thing about it being sparse though. Maybe that's just not what you're used to? I get the controls being annoying though, maybe I should change that. Thanks for the feedback though!

GAMEPLAY
The game was enjoyable to play and watch! Only a particular challenging section caused repeated 'deaths', which became frustrating. More precise control over movement could improve that gameplay experience. But I did manage to get passed it and get to the end. Fun enemies that throw you into the spikes also. Cool movement.

ART STYLE / VISUALS
Despite its simplicity, the art style effectively contributed to the game's overall aesthetic and helped create a nice atmosphere.

AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The sound effects were appropriate and enhanced the atmospheric quality of the game.

INNOVATION
The game introduced some lightly innovative aspects in terms of movement/swimming.

THEME
The theme was touched upon.

Overall this was a nice gaming experience despite retrying some parts a lot of times. Well done ๐Ÿ’ช!

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I appreciate it, and I agree with the movement tweaks. You're a really good jam host, as far as I can tell you've commented on every game :)

Played and rated!

The beginning was really cool! I enjoyed the atmosphere and art of the game. Was able to finish the game.

The controls on the other hand left me a bit frustrated, as I would have prefered being able to decide when to dash instead of waiting for it to appear.

Overall great visuals and theme!

Would appreciate if you check out and rate our game as well:

Thanks! Yeah, I can see how the controls might be frustrating, not aire if you were using the mouse (it's much easier and intended be used) instead of WASD though. Sure I'll check out your game :)

I really like the atmosphere for this one. I did feel like I was fighting the controls at times. There is a particular corner that I got impaled on quite a lot!

thanks! Yeah, controls can be hard to control at times if you're using WASD so I'd recommend using the mouse instead. There were quite a lot of corners like that so if you didn't time the dash right it punished you pretty badly

I'm a huge fan of the art style. It's very simple, yet it looks great. The gameplay is fine, but I wish I had more control over the dash ability, because it often appears at a terrible moment when it will launch me into spikes, and when I need it, I need to wait.

thanks for playing! That's sort of the point with the dash ability, it's meant to be out of control so you have to find the right time to avoid any spikes. It gradually gets very natural to use as you play the game though, so you'll get used to it :D

Great game , but I am a bit confused as this was made for the ludum dare too right ?

thanks :) yeah, I made the game for ludum dare which was also going on but it was a very late submission cuz of how busy I was. So I ended up changing the overall mechanics or this jam but never got round to changing the ending text lol
