Played and rated!

The forest section with the compass was nice! Having the ui telling us we can use the flashlight was very useful. The compass helped navigate to the bunker without frustration which I appreciated. The ambient overall was spooky.

In the bunker I didn't really understand how hiding works as I hid but still died. I liked the Fnaf kind of vibe in the bunker where you have to look around though. At first I thought we could enter the tunnel to try escaping the monster that appears, that was my first idea when playing.

Overall nice small game, the art and vibe were interesting enough but the gameplay was pretty confusing and could be improved.
Well done for this game jam :)

The forest area looked great. FOV was a little low imo. Would’ve been really nice to have the sound of footsteps in that section. Bunker made no sense, sound cues didn’t seem to pan to where the creature was? Reading here I understand now what I was supposed to do, but upon trying it again I still died after crawling in the vent so 🤷‍♀️

GAMEPLAY
I wasn't entirely sure of my objectives once I found the bunker, leading to frequent and quick deaths 😆.
The compass was a nice tool, preventing endless wandering in the forest. I did had a bit of fun wandering and running through the forest :-)/

ART STYLE / VISUALS
The forest was nicely rendered with also the fog effects. Although the flashlight's flickering light might have been a bit excessive. But the flashlight itself was done well.

AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The sound effects effectively contributed to a dark and immersive atmosphere.

INNOVATION
The game itself was not particularly innovative in its mechanics or approach.

THEME
The theme of isolation was lightly addressed.

Nice little game! 💪

I somehow managed to survive for a while in the bunker without knowing what I was doing 😅 (I figured it out eventually). I feel that the camera movement wasn't very smooth in the bunker. It's so fast and goes back and forth when pressing left or right, and it doesn't feel very comfortable to look at. Same for the part in the forest, where I'm not a big fan of the blur effect. But overall, I like the atmosphere of the game and the gameplay was pretty fun once I understood it :)

Thank you :)

Beginning forest section was pretty hard to control because there was so much motion blur while moving or looking around. And I'm a little confused by the bunker part, as I could only change between three directions and a closet of some sort, none of which really did anything and I would die after a short few seconds every time.

I should have put more context to the game and how to play before starting, ran out of time unfortunately. Bunker is pretty simple, if you see him in the middle hide in the closet. If he's on the left or right just go to the vent he's at and he'll go away

Ok I gave it another try and knowing that made it so much better, managed to survive 140 seconds before dying which was a huge improvement haha. Really appreciated the sound cues, I think if they panned based on the direction the guy is in that would add another layer of strategy. I did have a stretch of 15 seconds or so at the 60 minute mark where he wasn't spawning at all for a while, but he came back eventually, and earlier on there were a couple times when I saw he had spawned in a different direction before the one I was looking at disappeared. But otherwise had a lot more fun with the bunker part, I would try to finish it but I am absolutely awful with jumpscares lol

Developer

thank you for replaying :) you did well compared to most others who die within the first 100 ish seconds

Nice Game, Please try our game :)

I liked the compass you implemented and got scared by that evil guy the first time I went into the bunker. Unfortunately I was too stupid to survive longer than a couple of seconds lol. Great job!
