I think this game has all the potential to be great but is held back by a few things. For one I personally think that everything moves a bit too slowly, especially as the squares get bigger and move more tiles at once, making a mistake costs you a bunch of time. It took a bit to understand that once the big square lands on the small square it's over because there's no proper reaction set up other than that the puzzle inevitably becomes unsolvable. I feel like adding a small message to the screen that will ask you if you want to restart the room, or maybe restarting the room as soon as no win-state is possible anymore directly, would help signal things better. The overall puzzle design is pretty good and there are some really nice headscratchers in there and gameplay-wise there's not much more to criticize. And since the gameplay is the most important part I feel like you did a great job there.

I have encountered two bugs in total. One being that the master volume slider didn't affect the music volume slider. The other is that sometimes the reload button wouldn't work. Apart from that you've got a pretty bug-free experience, which is nice!

The only other critique point I have is that the presentation was at points somewhat lacking. The music felt very random and after a while I had to turn it off lest I get sensory overload. The sound effects and the visuals might be a bit more on the basic side of things but they honestly more than suffice. Only critique there is that some of the objects that have collision don't stick out from the background enough due to using similar pastel tones together.

All in all though this has been an alright little experience with lots of potential! Keep it up!

Thank you for your kind and honest words! You can change the brightness in the settings! ^^

Regarding the jump delay, we felt that it would make the slime feel a lot weightier if we had him charge his jump first, which is something we aimed to do due to weight being a major mechanic in our game. ^^

There's always an after the jam :D

When I went into this game I didn't think I'd split the atom or steal the sun lol. The humour and the writing are absolutely on spot and I really enjoyed the art direction. The gameplay is a tiny bit bare bones and I did get stuck once while trying to get over the river but overall this has been an incredibly fun experience!

For this being your first game this isn't only a really good game but I think you did an absolutely fantastic job given the time frame! I like the artstyle and the general gameplay idea is nice as well. I did get stuck in the level that has a bunch of buttons that open/close gates and would've loved a restart button there but that is my only bit of criticism. Great job!

Very fun little game! My only bits of criticism are that the hitboxes of the slimes felt a little off at times and that it was a bit short. Would've loved to see more of it and I really enjoyed the concept of having to bring these two slimes together while scaling each other!

I've always liked video games like the incredible machine or lemmings where you have to guide things into a goal and I really enjoyed the way you incorporated the idea of scaling into the game. For the most part it plays, looks and sounds great and my only criticisms would be that it was impossible to click the rotate button if you zoomed out and that the treadmill didn't seem to work most of the time. All in all a really cool submission though, especially considering you made it in 48 hours!

I like the idea of this game but the controls felt rather floaty and I was unable to get through the first level because every time I tried hitting the purple slimes from the side I got bugged through the ground. I also think that it takes a bit too much time and effort to kill enemy slimes because I was unable to kill a single slime before glitching through the ground and having to restart. I do feel like a little bit more polish, balancing and bugfixing you have yourself a cool little game.

At first I didn't quite understand what was going on or that I could move the green square but once I understood how to play it it was actually quite fun. My highscore is 365!

I really like the general concept of it however I would always get a bug where cooking wasn't possible after the first time and the water boiler took too long for me to keep my health up by only drinking water on the easy difficulty setting. Only on "Quick" was I actually able to start building my raft a little but at some point I got stuck on my tent and wasn't able to keep playing. I feel like this game could've been really fun with a little bit more polish but it's still a nice litte proof of concept!

Thank you for the kind words and for playing our game!

Regarding the UI bug, were you playing Windowed or Fullscreen?

If you do let me know I'll gladly play more of this!

The main challenge would be the same. The carpaltunnelsyndrome in me would be grateful though xD

This was a really fun little game! The only criticism I have is that I'd love a rapidfire button/mode.

Thanks for playing, rating and the honest criticism!

I am not sure what nuclear bomb you are talking about to be honest lol. If you died after day three it might have been the eye-monster shooting its laser at you? Did you die suddenly or was one of the bars expleted?

The core gameplay loop really is too slow, I 100% agree there. I wouldn't make the game much easier though, only faster or with less downtime, because otherwise it becomes too much of a themepark ride in my opinion. I think having that little bit of resource and time management contrasting having to avoid the monsters there leads to a few funny (to me) and stress-ridden moments lol

Outside from the one bug that kept my character from walking to the phone if I pressed the phone too often everything worked well. The dialogue was mostly well written although I didn't understand one of the questions, but I got it right anyways. This was a fun little experience.

I think you're 100% right in that things drag on a bit too long, I have combined ADHD as well so in hindsight after all the pride from having a finished game has worn off that was the first thing that I noticed too. Things only really start happening from day three on and I think if I update the game after the jam I would probably cut day two altogether and skip to day three. I'd also make the minutes go by faster. It also doesn't help that I have a RNG spawner that decides whether or not you just get a random sound event or if it spawns an enemy. So some playthroughs end up having no monsters at all. Also something I would change to be a bit more deliberate so there aren't as many downtimes.

Reading by the way only reduces your boredom early on, the more you read the same book the more boring it gets over time and at some point it'll make you more bored. I figured that's how it would work irl so I implemented it that way. Kinda to give the player something they can use early on but not rely on the longer the game goes.

The intended gameplay loop is for you to earn money, take care of your needs, avoid the monsters and then survive to day 7. I originally planned for people to just keep on dying and observing which activities do what and which stats interact with other stats. Like hunger and thirst will decrease your energy and health if you let it get too low, boredom will make you hungry and thirsty faster, exercising will make you smelly, etc. Slowly finding out how to balance all the stats so that you can survive till the end. My testers were able to survive after a few attempts but I get that it's frustrating to learn especially early on.

The hand is just a thing you need to learn from. If you stand far enough away from the PC while interacting with it, it isn't able to hurt you. That whole thing with the eye being able to spawn and attack you while you're doing an activity is an oversight honestly. It never happened during the tests because of the random nature of its spawn. Usually it gives you just enough time to break eye contact if you react fast enough. As soon as the laser charge sound starts you got four seconds before it fires and it takes about ten seconds for it to slurp back up into the ceiling again which is when you're safe. I think in hindsight I would also make it so that the charge up charges down when you break eye contact instead of just pausing and resuming, because that's also one major complaint about the eye I've been hearing these past days.

Regarding the secret ending, there have been some other hints I've hidden within the game  (especially during the 6th day) that would be able to point you to it because some of my testers also weren't able to understand the lyrics, which I fully blame that radio effect for (definitely not my shoddy mixing skills lol). I've been meaning to upgrade to one of the newer Komplete's but money is tight so I've been doing what I can with Komplete 10. When I get around to it I'll definitely check out Noire Piano, thank you!

It doesn't come off as negative at all, I'm really grateful that you took the time to write all of your criticism out! A lot of things I've already noticed myself after the jam because hindsight is always 20/20 but you made some really good points and I very much appreciate it! I'll probably try to fix these things once the jam is over. Thank you again for this detailled comment! <3

I like the message of the game and I was able to fell all trees within three days, although I gotta be honest I didn't understand the percentage that was displayed in correlation to where I hit the tree. But nevertheless I made it to the end and it was pretty fun.

Graphics and atmosphere were great but I got disoriented a lot while outside the building, mainly due to the fog and the high mouse sensitivity. But I did enjoy my time with it!

Fun little game! I got a little confused with the directions but other than that it was great fun and I liked the message!

I think there were some missing textures or models because the flashlight didn't shine any light onto the walls or the floor as well as some other objects, which made it incredibly hard to navigate. At some point my flashlight turned off and I was unable to turn it back on again.

I'm a huge fan of escape the room games but unfortunately I haven't been able to complete it. I got stuck at the labyrinth puzzle despite having used the hint and at that point the high mouse sensitivity gave me motion sickness so I had to stop. I still enjoyed it though!

The art direction of this game was beautiful! The gameplay felt a little stiff however and my shield didn't work. All in all great job!

The artstyle and the music of this game were fantastic and it controlled crisp and nicely. Well done!

Only with monsters lol

Thank you!

There's one secret room where before that you are told to put all the boxes together instead of isolating. I solved that one, pentagrams came but I wasn't able to go further. ^^

Thank you!

This is a fun take on the Boxxle type gameplay, I really liked the idea of having to isolate the boxes! Unfortunately I got stuck in the secret room the game *wants* you to open. I was able to finish it but then nothing happened and there was no way to go anymore. In general I though the concept was super fun, I'd definitely play more if I knew how lol

The general concept of this game is really fun but I think the minigames are a bit too unforgiving, especially the Sink minigame was a tough one to crack. All that considered it was still a pretty fun game!

Fun concept but I personally am not too big of a fan of everything being this random with most RNG checks only giving you the illusion of choice because having a bad luck streak leads to the game just feeling a bit unfair. Apart from that I gotta say that even with the added guide I often didn't understand what each of the stats like anxiety for example actually did. That all being said I really do like the general idea of the game, I'm a huge fan of management like that in games and I thought the idea with the cards was really cool, too.

Which of the four...? :'D

I love the concept of this game a lot. Reminds me off all the cool Jezzball games I've played as a child. The art and the general presentation of this game was well made and super polished. Great fun!

This game was incredibly addicting, I had to stop myself from playing more. The platforming section at the beginning of the game was fun albeit a bit easy. The part after that shines though, I love managing games personally so this was a huge blast. The minigames were fun although I gotta say that the food minigame was too long for what it's worth, needing more food as the game went on. The building minigame was too easily replacable by the auto-gather skill imho but it was the most time consuming so I didn't mind too much. The fuel minigame was easily cheesable, if the fuel goal bars were too high up there I could just let go of space and it would randomly generate a new one, so by the end I got a whole lotta fuel lol. I didn't get far enough to need entertainment or tech but I did play a little while and as I said it was super addicting. Fun game all around!

The pixel art was good but by god am I a sucker for dynamic music, really fantastic job! I also really like the setting of the game being a lighthouse, just generally a cool setting and very fitting for this jams theme. The minigames are fun as well and the story - apart from a few - spelling mistakes was well written too. All in all a really good game!

I like the idea of the game but I thought that the controls were a bit too difficult, especially due to the screen rotating and it changing how jumping works. I wasn't able to get past the second level unfortunately.

I like the setting and the story a lot, a magician in a magic-free world. I probably missed something but is there any actual use to the mana potions and the food? The protag said his Mana was going down but in the menu it looked like it was full. I still used it but I was unsure if they changed anything. I'm usually not a fan of sudden deaths by exploration, but you did warn us to save often so it wasn't nearly as much of a hassle as it could've been. Unfortunately I got stuck at the statue in the snow biome as well.

EDIT: I've watched the google drive video of the ending and now I'm sad it didn't work in the final version. Really cool game, would love to see more!

It's a gamejam, it'd be heaven if we actually were to include everything we wanted do xD

I mean the general audio in the game. The SFX suffice in my opinion but some music or ambient noise would have been nice.

Oh I didn't know that! I'll give it a try and update my rating! ^^
