Thanks for the feedback and kind words and for understanding. really it's quite complicated to trim everything and leave well polished to the end of the jam :)

good game, and the art really cool, a 2 bit game idea is always great to see.

Thanks :) glad you enjoyed.

I have to admit, currently playing on a trackpad so I wasn't very good! But overall the game definitely seems very good. The pixel art is really nice, like that 1-bit style and the sprites were really well made.

Some general feedback I found while playing:

  • A start menu would go along way, throwing you straight in gets the player killed unfortunately
  • Maybe a count down before starting would help too!
  • The jump was a bit slow and a bit small honestly, being able to jump over the players would have been great
  • If you fell off the edge of the map it wouldn't end the game unfortunately.
  • In the same vein as a main menu, a pause menu would be nice
  • Music and sounds are part of the gaming experience too, they can be easy to overlook but even some copyright free sounds from the interwebs can go a long way!

Overall it was a very nice little game, beautiful pixel art especially!

I've got a quick video of me playing it here, incase it would be helpful for you to watch how others play (although of course, I am on track pad XD)

Thanks for the feedback and kind words. I am thinking about the possibility of continuing the development of the game and I will implement some if not all of the tips thank you :)

Nice little game πŸ˜Š!

GAMEPLAY
The idea of time backwards was nice. The gameplay could have been more diverse with some extra enemies and maybe the need to move around. Just shoot everything from the place I were standing. And I sometimes died and fall through the ground.. But the idea with the time was neat.

GRAPHICS/ART
Fun pixel art style. Coherent overall. Idle animation was cool. Some extra effects, enemies etc would have been nice.

AUDIO
A retro or 8-bit soundtrack would be nice to add in an update. To give some extra ambiance and atmosphere to the game.

THEME
Time is power..check.. Alternate reality I could not really discover..?

Overall fun little cute gameπŸ’ͺ!

The addition of the theme on my part was a little ambiguous, but thank you for understanding. really it's quite complicated to trim everything and leave well polished to the end of the jam

This was pretty fun. At first I wasn't sure what was going on as my cursor was off the screen and it wasn't shooting. Then I moved the cursor onto the screen and was able to defend myself. I did end up falling off the last platform but didn't die. Couldn't shoot or do anything other than watch the time run out. Really all I can offer is to add a few more enemies. Maybe ones that force you to move around a bit more and then making you use those controls. Otherwise I did just as well standing dead still shooting, really no point to move around otherwise. Good job!

Thanks for the feedback and kind words. I am thinking about the possibility of continuing the development of the game and fix all these problems some have already been found to their solutions Thanks :)

Gameplay was rather interesting, I like how the more briefly you click the right mouse, the less repercussion there is to nuking the screen and losing time. The player idle was quite lively as well. when I kill enemies though, touching them in their killing animation still kills me. I'd be nice to see more incorporation of alternate reality
