I'm not even sure what to say. Maybe except now I know how team Voltron felt on day one?

I remember thinking, when the two heroes were introduced, Oh man, left hand? What ever came from my left hand would be USELESS!

YEP. Never not an accurate statement.

That said, this was fantastic! I loved the mechanics and the whole fell of the game. Will try a play through again because I think I can improve. And that, my friend, is the ultimate hallmark of a good game idea: Make em come back for more!

Thanks for playing!

Another great game, Nowis! I am impressed that you got both WASD movement and arrow key movement working simultaneously while making a game that is challenging (but not *too* hard) around them. I enjoyed it so much that I played until I got all 6 Harolds.

Developer

Thanks KV! It is an experiment for a technically 2 player RM game haha.

Nice game! I'll admit I flubbed a little at the controls for a little, but once I got the hang of it, it was a fun playthrough.

Thanks for playing Bg!

Agh, amazing job, innovative gameplay, dope artwork, hilarious references. Yes, this is a Nowis creation! I liked the thought you obviously put into the choices, especially seeing that multiple actions could lead to different outcomes, dialog changed depending on alignment. I'm sure I missed some things, but I seriously tried to pry open every nook and cranny to find more creative gems.

Replayability was certainly high, but I think a little variety after play through 1 would really make things awesome. I'm thinking randomized encounters, encounter variations (like a goblin in a tree instead of a cat, or a fallen demon instead of an old lady, even just a sprite reskin for some monsters/villagers) that keep the player from feeling like time #3+ is too repetitive. Would love to have a gallery unlock as well, or a "view ending" page so I could reread all the amazing endings.

Thank you Nowis!!!!!

Damn brother. Every Jam. You are an artist. Excellent work, man. I love the set up of the screen and there is def replayability. Fantastic job all around. You will be in the top 3 without a doubt.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed this silly project!

That was fun! Really creative gameplay.

My Harold was very heroic, but had no potential.

"Prepare to be wowed!" :)

Developer

Haha the good old classic Mascot Harold!

I've pretty much ruined Harold's life. It was going well until I panicked and accidentally killed a villager, then I kinda lost my mind and murdered more villagers and made a deal with a demon lord. I think I got the worst Harold but it was hilarious. Will probably play again and try to not be such an asshole.

Great job Nowis.

Developer

Thanks for playing Kemsyn! Accidently killing villagers was what I was hoping would happen haha.

Hey nice idea here!
Dual screen + dual controls => Dual fun!

It's a good picture of what I expected from Harold!

Sound design is well done, the gameplay as well.

The fact we can have multiple endings adds a lot of replayability!

There was variety in Harold mini-games and I appreciate that!

Just a con( won't affect many people I think):
For AZERTY keyboard users it's not easy to play ( our W is where you Z is, and our A is where your Q is). I know how to fix that issue by modifying the code, but think about implementing A & Q as 'left' button, and Z & W as 'up' button.

Good work Nowis! ( Finished the game once with Harold Moon )

Ah never crossed my mind that AZERTY keyboards are a thing. Next time maybe I can work out how to give the player option to pick the keyboard they are using when relying on WASD. Thanks for playing Manu!

This was extremely fun, even if my Harold had almost no potential.  Really neat idea and well executed.  I'll be spending more time with this one later.

An incredibly well-defined and crafted game that requires a bit of a learning curve when playing solo. Due to the nature of controlling both the WASD and the arrow keys for each character. But it will be a lot more fun playing in co-op since only one person gets to man each control.

Each particular action you take will influence both the heroism and the potential you get. Earning potential or not will influence the different Harold endings. And skewing your heroism to villainy and saint can be a puzzle in and of itself, also shifting your Harold endings. I got the Magic Scout Harold the first time, but I tried hard to get all 6 of them with Scumbag Harold being one of the hardest ones I try to get in my playthrough.

Getting all 6 Harold Endings can take a bit of a balancing act between acting out which particular thing and you can't pause in between a lot of the runs. However, you are given some short period of leeway to position your two controllable characters before starting. In a sense, this game is designed to be like those arcade-style mission minigames that are quite fun to play and allows for replay value.

The story itself is interesting, simplistic yet also hilarious to a degree, to which I will not spoil here for the moment to ensure other players enjoy the ride.

Once again, an excellent entry that truly allows for interactivity and fun on a gameplay spectrum the likes of which you have refined over your many game jam projects. Truly a Harold simulator of epic proportions.
