Nice game 😀
It made me think of Jump King, I can imagine that people would want to play it ^^
It took me some time to figure that you can load the gun 😅
It will be interesting to see what you will be doing next.
Very atmospheric. It took me a minute to figure out how the stick worked #KiriDifficulty The faceplant animation is a nice touch.
Ahh, the little astronaut is so cute, especially when it falls on its face T__T;
I love the design and I feel the simplicity gives it a lovely charm. I enjoyed the little introduction to the game too, such a nice touch and impressive for a short game jam!!
I'm happy to read in the comments that you'll be continuing to work on this project. I feel it has some great potential.
A shoot to jump game? What is this, the GMTK Game Jam?
Joking aside, this was a neat, albeit rather short game. The ability to move while in the air is nice, though makes the game a lot easier. Perhaps forcing players to commit to an arc when jumping would make for a more engaging experience? I'm also not a fan of how the in-air controls work. There seems to be some momentum when starting the acceleration, but you can change directions instantaneously, which is a confusing combination. There also seems to be some bugginess when spamming the fire button, so maybe not letting the player start charging until the character stands up might have been a good idea.
At least this wasn't as hard as that clucking chicken game 🤣
Loved the aesthetics of this game quite a lot - I got some serious Dome Keeper vibes from your choice of assets! Also, I've now learned that a platformer is automatically better when you add a pogo stick!!
Thank you for your submission to the HF 2023 Game Jam!
Fetse did an amazing job with the artwork, but I ended up running out of time to make the most of it with mechanics and level design!
Actually planning on adding in a lot more stuff and re-releasing it, so hopefully I stick to that plan. An actual pogo-stick powerup is actually a really good idea…
Thanks for playing!
chicken game 2.0
Haha, it was actually accidentally so similar!
Thanks for playing!
Very cute! Love the art!
Fetse did such an amazing job with the artwork, it really looks amazing!
Thanks for playing!
What a great concept!! The art style is absolutely gorgeous, and the astronaut is oozing with personality by seeing how helpless they are when they faceplant every time they land lmao. I struggled a bit to begin with to figure out the gun mechanics, and thought it was a laser beam and not a jumpbooster. I also found that I was mostly just using full blasts to launch myself, and spent a lot of time just waiting for it to charge. However, I still think this is a great game with lots of potential and would love to discover what the rest of this world has to offer!
Thanks so much! Fetse did such a great job with the artwork, it really has so much character to it, and the faceplant is just chefs kiss.
I’m hoping to continue working on this one a bit, and add in some of the stuff we had planned, like buttons and switches, turn it into more of a puzzle metroidvania style game.
Thanks for playing!
Cute art and a fun challenge to play. I like it!
Thanks for playing!
drops 1 pixel, FLAT FACE
a fine gamejam game
What can we say, it’s a heavy suit!
Thanks for playing!
Really interesting game! Cute guy I love it when he falls over, the gun jumping is really cool as well. Shame it's pretty short, would love to see more!
Thanks so much!
I’m planning on adding in the stuff I ran out of time to implement, and turn it into a bit of a puzzle metroidvania style game. Hopefully I stick to it!
Thanks for playing!
