Nice work, but have some issues with Level Design and Controls

Submitted

The dash system was pretty difficult to get around (i seemed to mostly off ledges, especially as it was mapped to space.) The art/animation was pretty good - and I thought the game had potential, although was pretty difficult, especially with the limited arrows!

Not bad, good mechanics. First time I ran out of arrows and got killed :) Then I learnt to save arrows

I don't know about any similar greek myth though...

Great game , the art looks great! The dash system is a bit weird for me..

A well-done platformer but with some level-design pitfalls. I think there needs to be more contrast btwn the background and foreground and some more thought put into platform placement, but it feels nice.

The player sprite and animations look really cool and have a distinct style, although the lack of actual attack animations felt awkward. I'm not a fan of the completely fixed camera here where it's just glued to the player, but that's a minor nitpick and is all personal preference.

There's some level design issues, like my first time playing Level 2 I basically was able to skip half the level right off the start, but with just a little more care to the design it would be pretty great overall for level design.

Combat was cool but I found the enemies trivial since you can just run straight past them. It would be good if they also did damage on contact or something and stunned the player so you couldn't just do that, and the dash is overpowered.

It reminds me in a strange way of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, with the fast and snappy movement controls, ranged weapon, square design, etc. and that's a really good thing!

The animation and movement I think are very well done, I've played several jam platformers that were not as smooth looking as this. But I do also have several issues with it.

The screen size requirement is a bit of a problem, I have a 1080p monitor so it wasn't an issue for me but unfortunately 1920x1080 isn't standard for a lot of people. I'd suggest looking into using the canvas scaler component and setting the anchor positions and pivot points of UI objects. It's definitely a bit of a learning curve at first but I think it pays dividends in terms of user experience. I know from experience because one of my friends was unable to play one of my games a few months ago because he had a 3:2 screen laptop and the UI went off the screen.

The text in the main menu is kinda hard to read against the background, I would suggest perhaps using TextMeshPro to add an outline around the text. Or perhaps making the text a colour that contrasts nice with the background.

Gameplay wise I only really got stuck at one point in the third level where the gaps between platforms were too narrow and too low to get any height and I kept falling to my death.

Overall though not a bad platformer, nice work!

Nicely done platformer. The background is cool but could do with being a bit more different to the player - he blends in a bit when he jumps.  The movement and arrows are nice and fluid and well animated.

A really nice game!

I really enjoyed playing him!
