I liked it, but i had a hard time seeing my arrows

Developer

Thanks. They do blend in with the background a bit. I didn't have time to improve them.

I finally had a chance to play this one, turns out I did need the x64 version desktop .NET core.

The game played pretty smoothly and was fun to play as the number and difficulty of enemies increased. The sound effects and voice acting were great, and the enemy variety was surprising for only a week of work.

The moving snake hair indicating Medusa's health was cool, and being able to use statues to block enemies added a nice dynamic to the game where the player could strategize where to block off.

Excellent work!

Putting in the extra effort to play is really appreciated. Thank you.

And thanks for the feedback too!

Really fun game :D I loved the sound effects jaja

Great voice acting and a pretty fun little game.  Great job.

LOL those sound effects! The game was smooth and pretty fun to play. It took me a second to figure out the controls, but once I did, it all worked well. The only small issue I had was that the enemy hitboxes were pretty unforgiving. Missing by a pixel or two was pretty annoying.

Developer

Thanks that's very useful feedback. The hitboxes are circles so I can easily adjust the radius to make them bigger or smaller. So looks like they need to be slightly bigger for the enemies.

The sound effects were hilarious and varied enough to not become annoying. Game play was very unique, and I liked it being constrained to the single screen. I liked the added touch of the Doom-style face indicating your health. First time I missed the right-click attack and I love the minute detail of things bouncing off the pillars. Very memorable game!!

Developer

Thank very much for the feedback. I persuaded my wife to do the Medusa speech and she came up with some of the one liners too.

Amazing! Love the impromptu teamwork!

Tried to play, installed the x86 desktop version of .Net core but it still didn't seem to detect it. I'll try again later this weekend.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying. It should have prompted you with a link to the Microsoft install when you tried to run it.

It may need the x64 version - I can see from the package the linux and MacOS builds are x64.

Again, I appreciate you putting in the extra effort - definitely a lesson learned here.

It did prompt me with a link to the microsoft download page for .NET core, but I think it needs the x64 version, so I'll try that on the weekend. The game does look fun though so I'm eager to try it.

Fun gameplay! Lots of variety! Stone gaze is a well-thought-out mechanic! Only the additional step of having to install extra software makes the game less accessible and probably leads to less people trying it out. Which is a shame, because the actual game is very good!

Developer

Thanks. I probably should have built a version with the .net core runtimes included. I thought it would make it huge, but when I went and did it for Linux and MacOS it actually wasn't.

It was fun to play. The only thing is I couldn't see real-time health for medusa, Health bar wasn't working correctly.

Developer

The health bar is the snakes on her head!! When they are all gone, she dies.

The visible 'health' bar is for the gaze recharge.

Aaahh, that's why! Thank you for explaining!

Great little game! I love the animation on Medusa's hair! Reflecting arrows off the pillars was a nice touch.
