This is pretty fun with a black and white dual tone aesthetic which is cool, the ability to pick things up to get special cards is a cool gimmick and the ship is fun to run around in and the music during the card game section is good, Eon seems to have an infinite amount of coins, a full coin maximum , or a higher coin maximum then you at the start of the game mean while we have to work our way up from 1 coin which isn't the most fair as he can just immediately bum rush you if you don't have a 1 coin cost card to counter with even then good luck cause he may have an army of 4 or 5 cards while you can only afford like two I know card games are a mix of luck and skill but come on now. (Yes I am still salty from the round where he pulled out a pick ax every turn for 6 turns) It's fun but the luck needed to win is nuts.

Thanks for playing! Yeah I didn't have quite enough time to fix some of Eon's problems like infinitely repeating certain cards. However, he should still start with 1 coin, just like the player. Unless he uses the candle, which increases the coin count. But it could be that there's a bug there as well haha

Maybe he does just have 1 coin, but I don't think so since I have seen him pull out a 2 coin card at the start atleast once, when the jam is over I will go get a screenshot of it as proof

The card game was a ton of fun! However the black and white shader makes it really hard to navigate on the ship. Great job!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

Yeah I tried something different, and hoped that making the objects white, they would jump out enough haha

It is a very very nice game! These type of games are to my liking! Make sure to check out my game as well! :D

The card game was quite fun! Really made me remember of the game "Inscryption". Very nice! I liked it!

Developer

Thanks so much! It was a huge inspiration, so I'm glad it shows :D

This was actually fun! The visuals made it confusing at first but I got the hang of it eventually. Well Done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah the visuals are something new haha. Glad you liked it :D

You鈥檙e welcome!

Cool idea but flawed. My first 2 rounds I didn't have any of the items I picked up and just won with ants, mosquitoes, leaves and twigs, then on the third round Eon got 3 bows in a row and took me out, and then on the 4th round I got softlocked with Eon repeatedly using dynamite to blow up my pile of sand, but then we would each get out sand and dynamite back every round. I like your influences--the artstyle is very Obra Dinn, the card game is like a simplified Inscryption/Sacrifices Must Be Made, and the resource gathering at the beginning reminds me of that 60 Seconds game. The movement during the gathering section is too floaty and imprecise for how short a time you have, and the card game itself feels more luck based than anything. Also it's a bit weird that inanimate objects have attack values, like how is a leaf attacking? I see a lot of potential with this game, just needs more expansion and developing its own identity. Good job on what's here, though.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing and for giving me feedback! I'm sorry the RNG wasn't on your side, usually it's pretty fair. Also, I gotta make sure to prevent the dynamite problem from occurring again, but didn't have time during the jam unfortunately.

As for the inanimate objects, it's on purpose! There's lore behind it that I didn't get to fully implement. Basically, because you're ship crashed, you are on a tiny island with this character, Eon. You play a "card" game, but obviously there are no real cards, so you use whatever you have on this island.

I'm looking to make this more clear in the future :D

This is very good game! The movement feels a bit off and the mouse sensitivity is kinda low (at least on my end). Other than that, music/sound design is very good and I like the Black and White look of the game. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I've heard the movement feeling off, probably because of how it responds to the environment with the auto sliding at times. I'll be sure to fix this!

And honestly I hadn't thought about the sensitivity haha. It's low because I'm used to that when playing video games. Oops :D

Thanks again for playing!

- Neat art style. Awesome audio work - music perfectly fits the environment/estetic.
- I really liked the theme interpretation - having limited time to prepare for [something] (in this case - card game)

2 ideas I've got while playing (it's not critical, it's just something I would add if I could and there was time for that):

1) Highlight objects that have (or haven't) been collected by player previous time in order to encorage player discover new items

2) Add info to cards with question marks. Currently the only way to see what card does it to place it (has its own advantages, but being able to plan ahead is also important) <-- possible solution: As soon a player uses card at least once, info about this card is always displayed (in the current and future runs)

Hey! Thanks for playing :D

I appreciate the kind words. I like the idea of highlighting items. Cause I'm sure some people might not even know about some of the items lol

As for the second point, if you hover over the question mark, it shows a little description box of what the card will do!

i really love the artstyle in this game, such a shame we can't just jump the ship though...

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Yeah I figured people would try that lmao

Really nice game! Love the atmosphere of it and the idea of the game. The movement felt a bit clunky and it was easy to get stuck on things. Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! And noted, I'll be sure to mess with the first person player movement馃榿
