Seriously impressive for only 3 days of work. Good Job! It looks nice, sounds and nice and is fun to play; can't ask for much more.
I must admit that I don't see how it fits in with the theme? I feel like I'm missing something obvious
Can't be believe you did all the levels of this in 3 days. That's insane! Every puzzles are so well-designed, great job!
wow the number of levels and well thought puzzles really amazed me i had a lot of fun thank you !!! all the shapes / characters are very cute (and yes im a curious one, like Squarington, always looking for OOTB ahah) I will definitely come back to finish them all
the only issue i get (and i dont think i'm the only one ?) was the unconventional keys like the "I" for jumping i kept pressing space ... But other than that i have to admit you worked hard on that one, amazing job :D !! Even the intro with "Galaxy Cafe" is pretty !
Nice game but I feel that the controls are a bit weird and unconventional.
Really impressed with how many levels are in here! Played out a lot like fireboy and water girl (old cool math games puzzle game)! Puzzles felt managable and didn't come off as too confusing, which was nice. Each character had their own unique abilities which paired well with the levels. Well done!
A few gripes: I think the controls are a bit awkward (keyboard), mainly the position of the action keys felt really unnatural and I left like I constantly pressed the wrong button/confused it with another. Also, I noticed you can get hit once you "entered" the little shape things. I assumed this was a safe point, but damage was still recieved. It just felt a little misleading.
Wait when you were at the door (Aka the safe point) Was your character 1. In the door or 2. still standing and able to move? because if it's the first one then yikes that's a bug I got to fix, if it's the 2nd one then no that is intentional, everything else you had issues with yeah that was my fault and I am sorry, thank you for the kind words and feeback
My responses to your problems are down below, but I must ask you why this game dissapointed you?
For the hitboxes if it's for the buttons then I understand, if it's for the characters hitboxes, it has a capsule to fit as much of the hitbox to the character's sprite to be accurate, maybe I should have made it a bit wider but I think it was fine.
The low jump is intentional, alot of the levels take place on one screen like your game, If every character had a high jump, what would be the point of Squarington's (aka the box) ability? He would be useless if every character could jump high would he not? Squarington jumping ontop of other characters would be a cool idea to use I will admit but most of the time the puzzles were designed so another character can reach a high place and then use their special action, maybe when I work on this game in the future I'll work on that.
Jumping with the I key was a choice I made because that is what I am used to in computer platforms, I will admit that space bar, up arrow, or the W key would have been a more conventional place to use the jump function
I also admit I should have let the player have some sort of hint as an optional setting instead of letting them figure it out for them selves, but I think the mechanics are easy enough to figure out without text.
I like the use of different characters and abilities per character, that always gets my brain moving on how to engage each obstacle! The controls were a bit odd for me to figure out at first but once I played around for a bit I got it down. Nice level design and fun puzzles!
Very nice! I like all the different characters' abilities and how their personalities came out during their animations. The art was a little eye-strainy, looked like the sprites had been resized so sometimes when they moved they would have a thick outline in parts, sometimes a jagged outline, and sometimes no outline at all. Puzzles were good, though I think 3-2 is broken because it wouldn't scroll up and I couldn't see where Trish was supposed to go. Damage system seemed to bug out, characters wouldn't heal between levels and didn't die even when hit down to 0 health. Also, I noticed the buttons turn off when a character leaves the button even if another character is still there weighing it down. These are just small bugs though, altogether this is a very good game!
I am happy for your kind words and feedback that you have given me but I must ask about the part where you said the art was eye strainy, assuming you were playing the Html build, were you playing on full screen? If not, then that us the reason why, as I had to shrink the screen size down to half it's original size so it could fit onto the game page but still be playable, please play on full screen next time so you can see the art at it's fullest and not crunched up. But once again thank you for playing!
The controls are really strange but the game is cool, well done :)
Very cool game, the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is very enjoyable, and everything was explained with detail, great job!!
Tl;dr? Don't be salty that I gave you a negative review on your game and actually give me a proper review instead of being hypocritical and calling it "Trash".
C3Forester you should NOT be going around people's (or currently at the time of writing just my page) game jam ratings and calling them trash just because you didn't like the fact that people were not liking your game and gave it a negative review, even if it is your first ever game. You should rather take the critques that people have made to your game and use them to better yourself and your future game development, and not letting you fill you with anger, spite, and saltyness to do childish things. You're better then this. Maybe instead of just going to my page and saying "trash" and bring nothing else to the table, how about giving actual constructive critism in your review instead of just saying "trash" to my game which would be considered hating, which is hypocritcal of yoi since you aaked for people to "stop hating on your game" so why would you do that to others? And if you can't do be bothered to leave a proper review even if you hate the game? Maybe take your own advice "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all".
Impressive how many levels you managed to make! The control scheme baffles me a bit, the levels were fun to figure out regardless. A few of the later levels didn't really make use the abilities of the different shapes. Like the one with the spikes and the bouncy pads where you just have to walk 3 of your guys a few steps to the right and you're done. And the first one with the conveyors, which was fine but for some reason you had to do the same level twice. Once with the circle and once with the square.
Sadly in one of the later levels with the escalators where you have to climb up the camera did not move up so I couldn't see the rest of the level. Lots of small critiques but don't let that fool ya. It's a great little game and I had fun, cheers!
Sorry, I didn't write that down very clearly. The level did not repeat per se, but I had two characters to get to the other side. They both started on the same side, and I did not have to use any of their abilities. In that way, it felt like playing the same level twice. Because I had to platform both characters to the other side in the exact same way.
Ohhhh that, okay I think I know what you are talking about, either A. I didn't have enough time and wanted to meet my 15 level quota so I made an alternate version or B I made a similar level by accident. I wanted to have some levels disable a character so they would be used but I didn't have the time to figure out how to do so with the system I had in place. if you could please put down which levels you had this issue for me
This is a pretty good game! The controls (on keyboard) are very strange though, but the gameplay is fun. The amount of levels this game has is astonishing honestly. Very cool!
