Very organic very enigmatic, very spicodelic, love the vibe a little bit treatening, but still beauty and mystic. Great Work

Description
While I did not develop a full story as inspiration for this track, I approached it with the intent to tell one. I imagined what it might sound like to be wandering into a dense forest where, as you continue to take this path, you feel more and more lost and begin to suspect that you're not alone.
I used a lot of string-type patches and samples that have subtle shifts in timbre and pitch to evoke a feeling of unease. The string sections play cyclically to set a sort of pace for events to happen and build over time towards a climax that introduces new moods to the score.
When building the percussion, my goal was to experiment with effects and create a dynamic stereo field so that I could build a rhythm that fills out the space in interesting ways and immerses listeners within the setting.
One of my other goals for the ambient factor in particular was to play with dynamics, timbre, and ambient sounds to create new textures when instruments play together. My hope with this was to create an emergent soundscape where listeners might hear new things each time they listen to the track.
Description of Setup (Optional)
I did a lot with automation to enhance the cyclical feel of the song, and to help certain instruments/samples to fit in with the mix. The only FX bus that I used has a convolution reverb assigned to it to fill out the space a bit.
As for the master chain I used a gain tool since I mixed most of the instruments at a lower level, the UADX 1176LN REV E compressor to try to glue everything together and add some light saturation, the UADX Studer A800 to add a subtle tape effect, and EQ at the end to bring up the low-end and tone down the mids and treble a bit to help make the track a bit less harsh.
