Description
You are a harbinger of death, entering the secluded manor of whose neighboring town had crumbled to a natural disaster. Walking through a Garden of Crows, nary a fleeting thought crosses your mind, until you see stones littered about in an uncomfortable fashion, yet all too familiar. This is no mere courtyard, this is a graveyard. You stand before an abode of death, Dimora Della Morte. Regardless, your task remains the same: snuff out the last ember of life from this damned place. Walking through these labyrinthian halls, you see photographs and gramophones, preserved memories of Bygone Days that have long since faded into obscurity. A sense of anticipation builds as midnight is closely approaching, and soon enough, The Clock Strikes Twelve, and you finally find your target. In the blink of a crow's eye, the deed is done. There is no more life to be found, only Desolation and despair. May the damned finally find peace in their eternal rest.

This OST had a really troubled development. While I had the overall vision in my head from day one, I struggled with composing and producing each individual piece, trading days of frustration for one solid draft. The theme was amazing, and the time limit was incredibly generous, and I think I was able to produce an overall complete product by the end, although certainly not perfect. In particular, the piece titled The Clock Strikes Twelve feels particularly rough and out-of-place, but I've got it to a point that I feel is sufficient enough to submit all the tracks. I hope you enjoy listening, and I would love to hear any feedback of thoughts on the OST. I'll do my best to respond to as many comments as I can. (I really mean it this time!) :D

I love all of these tracks a lot! Can't say much more than that!! On The Clock Strikes Twelve the bass a piano or double bass VST? Also are you using a piano VST?

Just so I do have feedback here, I don't love love sound design part of the bass sound on The Clock Strikes Twelve, I actually kinda wanna try playing that and recording it lol.

Oh and also I think the credits song typically in games is room for something more exciting, think the firewatch ost.

This is cool! I think it all came together in a way that really developed on what you were posting in the devlog.

Garden of Crows

Maybe a little repetitive given that it's kind of following the same chord progression as ByGone Days

Dimora Della Morte

This is pretty cool. I love the fading in and out, the eerie sounds this generates. I want that lower bass drum sound to be a little deeper and spacious.

I think my main critique of this track is that I want it to fill the space a bit more - I remember I left the same feedback on the last jam.

ByGone Days

Really, really good work. The return to the main theme at 1:09 was perfect and so appropriate.

The Clock Strikes Twelve

This one is maybe a bit repetitive but it does have a vibe.  It also is kind of dry in the mix. I like the progression and choice of instruments.

Desolation

I love the eerie vibes here.

Overall

I think the biggest weakness here is that there is still kind of a repetitiveness. But the vibe/taste is good - and in my mind, that's the biggest indicator of future potential, because being able to create a vibe and generate something tasteful means you have a sense of the spirit of the music itself. Big question for you - do you improvise on instruments regularly?  I think this is the single best way to get over repetitiveness and bring out more of the world I can definitely hear in your music.

Great work, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from you!

I quite liked your submission! fairly simple yet fairly well off for being so.

The clear story is present in all of these tracks! Very easy to visualize due to the high-quality mixing and composition!

I really liked the story line and how you connected your themes in a larger arc. I think some aspects could have been a little more present in the mix, some things felt a little too ambiguous to my ear.

Super happy you enjoyed my narrative take on the theme! I definitely agree that the mixing wasn't my best with this submission, I hope I'll be able to improve it for the next jam! :)

Recurring themes really tie it all together, great touch. Harmony unfolds beautifully. It was a real treat to listen to :)

Happy you enjoyed it! I tried to make good use of a central motif, glad you caught it! :)
