Description
This track is orchestral, inspired by some late-Romantic, early-Expressionist styles.
It is composed entirely using the diminished scale and features 5 interconnected formal sections, canons in the strings and choir, ostinato figures, and lots of percussion.
Hopefully you enjoy it and thanks for listening!!

Love the opening swell. Sense of mix is pretty decent, maybe a little murky and narrow, but otherwise very good.
The second section definitely reminds me of Shostakovich, which I can really appreciate. I feel like the buildup doesn't quite hit in the next section because it could probably use some double bass to really deepen the sound. If you look at your waveform at 2:16, the waveform is bigger than the climactic moment. The composition is good, but it definitely needs that punch. But, I really like the composition and love that it reminds me of Shostakovich.
It gets a little repetitive later on, as another person mentioned. I think that this is also indicative of the fact that writing classical music is really fucking hard, so definitely don't take that the wrong way, I'msuper impressed with your composition overall.
Do you have a midi controller? I feel like you should play some of this more organically.
So, constructive feedback:
Some of the instruments still sound a little artificial, and the mix is maybe a little dry and narrow. But, the composition is really cool, and the approach is definitely more challenging to pull off well, and I think it got a little repetitive, but in general it is very good and indicative of a lot of skill.
Well done and thank you for your entry!
Crazy chords, keeps it dark and very on edge if thats the mood you were looking for using the diminshed scale, if yes then job accomplished with huge success. Good job
Around 1:50, pizzicato strings and percussion really build some nice tension and I like the horn melody. Nice climactic resolution at 2:19. Next part is calmer yet still ominous, getting a Stravinsky vibe. Finale builds up tension and ending on that augmented chord was quite fitting IMO. Awesome work.
Beautiful and haunting composition. It becomes a little meandering around the 3:20 mark, and could use some work on the mixing with levels or eq (particularly the quiet bit at the beginning being too quiet, and the rumbly wooshing effect being kind of distracting). Maybe it just needs a little compression, or panning on instruments? That said, the actual content of the piece is right on theme and well composed.
It sounds epic and flavorful!
Orchestra, lots of sub bass and epic....
I like it! My only comment is the jumping volume (Although I have a big problem with that myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Good job!
P.S. How did you make those powerful transitions...? :>
