Really fun, but very difficult! Could use adjustment to projectile speed, wider camera, or even removing damage when colliding into enemy ships so focus is only on avoiding projectiles?

Thanks for the feedback! In the post-jam version I've started working on, lower difficulties will have lower projectile speeds.

Unfortunately I can't widen the camera without redoing the UI, as the game is 320x240 and then scaled up to 960x720 (so to make the ship smaller I'd have to use a different resolution).

Removing ship collision damage could work on lower difficulties, but because a couple of ship types don't fire projectiles they would become effectively worthless. Hopefully the slower projectiles, fewer enemies, and improved controls will be enough. :D

Great game!! It's really fun and challenging. The art and music are great too, I love the retro style!

that is good game

The premise seems great and the movement feels kinda nice, but the enemy projectiles are just too fast to react to.

Cool game, the sprites were well made and the color choice is good. the mechanics are all there, but it was really hard.

Because i did not get used to the control scheme at the start of the game I did not know how to dodge or move and got wrecked. The bullets also seemed super fast and hard to dodge. If you keep working on the game after the jam, try giving the player a little time to get used to the controls, and maybe slow it down. As a rule of thumb, you want the game to be way too easy for you, so new people will be able to play it until the end.

The idea is good, just needs more time and playtesting.

Oh that's a really good rule for difficulty I hadn't heard before, thanks!

“Can you escape alive?” Nope. HARD nope. I can’t wait to see someone stream this, because it’s flippin’ impossible to me! Really slick, though! :D

very fast paced, the music was sick, the mini map did not really help much, i didn't really get the escape part, but the game was fun, hard to avoid the bullets but who doesn't like getting bombarded by bullets =)

the "escape" part is that you start in the centre of the map surrounded by an enemy horde, and you need to escape past them to the edge of the map to win. If you press the R button it swaps the minimap to a full-screen map that's easier to visualise where you need to go (with the downside of it blocking the gameplay)

Thanks for playing though :D

Super cute retro vibes. A bit cumbersome to control and a LOT of bullets so I'm unsure of how to dodge properly. Great work!
