Amazing idea, and twist on the theme, Very short but great! I loved the art a lot, and the gameplay was quite smooth, the combat, was not very, developed. But asides from that, it was a great experience

Interesting twist on the theme. A little strange that the sword can heal, but at least it was funny !
Gameplaywise, it works for a jam game, but not for much more.
The pixel art really carries !
Sadly for the audio, it doesn't even work for me after the title screen.

Good job in general though !

I enjoyed a lot the gameplay. I kept playing it until I actually completed the game. Well done.
The art is very cool. Just the hitbox of the last level is a bit weird but if you keep near the golem it's still playable. Overall a great interpretation of the theme, please add more levels :)

Those are some things that I would change:
1. I would add a tutorial that shows the keys to use so that you don't have to read the instructions (I did at the end)
2. I would make the jump a bit higher so that when jumping you surely don't get any damage
3. Add a cooldown to the Z key
4. Of course, as I mentioned earlier, add more levels so that you keep the user playing (It's pretty nice when you understand the gameplay and you get deep into it)

This could be a very nice game if you decide to continue it. Great job!

Very interesting concept. Gameplay is very smooth and visually amazing. Great job on the art work and movement mechanics. Music and sfx are also very well done. Some problems I discovered are, the player can hug the left wall and not take damage in first stage, hitboxes feel off, might be only me but didn't understand which else keys and can be used beside 'z' and 'space' , can be polished a little bit here and there.Overall the game is amazing.

Suggestions:

1.Making a game over screen when player dies.

2.Tutorial or a controls tab that shows keys and their uses.

3.A save system that saves the stages completed and if player dies, loads the stage which player failed.(If the game is supposed to be completed in one go then concept is good as it makes the game challenging.)

I agree with all of these but the 3rd suggestion. I made it that way on purpose :))

Oh okay. Then the third point is irrelevant. Overall great game.

Some of the assets (The ones I deemed at least okay) are free to grab here:

Hey, hello, nice to meet you. I release a game in itch wich uses your background and i was wondering if you have twitter to add to your side in the credits :)

Developer(+1)

Hey, thank you for using that :)

My itch profile or the link to the asset with the name is enough. No need to add more.

I tried to play but when i hit the play button i get stucked on a black screen with the music running :(

Developer(+1)

that is OVERLY weird. It worked with everyone else. Are you sure it isn't an internet problem

First of all, the art is amazing, the thumbnail looks great too. the concept of the game is quite nice and the execution is good, but it needs some polish and balance to get it to the intended experience. there should be an attack cooldown and maybe it should be possible to atttack with a mouse click instead of the z keys since the z key is in kind of an awkward spot! the music and sound effects are nice and i love the little effects on the main menu. Love the story thats being told too! its short and funny Great submission! also extra points for using gdevelop xd

Developer(+1)

haha- thank you. That polish part is on me cuz i spent my time on way different things lol- and yes i agree that z is an awkward spot indeed, my mistake.

Thank you for your review anyway, I appreciate it.

Beautiful art, The visuals are top notch. Mechanics could use some polishing around the edges but the game overall is really well made, Great job!

Submitted(+2)

good game and mechanics. but it’s better to make the bullets fly behind the mouse

The art looks professional and great. I love the character designs, background and fluid animations.

I did not understand how to heal the golem in the third stage, it looked really inconsistent weather my sword healed or not. It was also annoying that every time I lost I got kicked back to the main menu and had to replay the entire game again.

Loved the Idea, art and animations. mechanics need a bit more work.

Developer (1 edit)

"The healing sometimes work and sometimes doesn't" is written in the instructions before the game. SInce, well, it's a luck game :))

Other than that, all of the art is done by shiroze. Credit them well :)))

Ho, Then I suggest giving the player a little more control. It feels frustrating to lose and feel like you did not deserve it.

Give shiroze a deserved pat on the back, they did a great job.
