Really creative way of combining 2 games! The movement feels a bit slow but overall it's a pretty good game.

btw if you could check out my submission too that'd be awesome!

Hey! Thanks for the comment. I really wanted to implement a speed escalation system but I wasn't able to do it due to not having enough time. Thank you for providing feedback on it :D And I will most certainly check your entry out as well

Cool! Hopefully you can maybe try adding the speed system after the jam ends!

Super cool idea!

I think the input handling could use a little bit more work though.

You could use a queue of inputs so that no button press is lost. Right now only the last input is considered every step which makes multiple turns in quick succession quite difficult. It is also possible to make a 180 degree turn right now by pressing two buttons between two frames.

For example if you're moving down and then press left and up before the next movement you loose if the snake is 2 blocks or longer.

Thank you for playing my game and commenting! I was aware of those bugs that were caused by the input system but didn't have the time nor the immediate idea to fix it. Thank you very much for telling me about input queue. I really appreciate you not only pointing out the problem but also the solution :)

Sweet idea, combining Snake and Tetris!!

Thank you for the kind comment :D

Oh wow that was a good surprise! Not sure it's needed to reset the game if the player touches the edge, maybe there could be a mode that only avance in time when you press a key! adding movement to tetris is already enough challenge, being pressed by time is  harder

Developer

Thank you very much for playing and commenting! I'm glad it could surprise you. You are absolutely right. There is no need to reset the game so abruptly when it ends. It's only there because I was running extremely low on time and couldn't manage any time to implement proper user interface and polish. The idea of stepping forward in time using a key is very interesting. If I decide to improve the project in the future, I will most certainly keep this idea in mind. Thanks again :)

Very creative but I think gameplay-wise it's a bit too hard/luck based.

Maybe you could try having multiple white dots appearing each time so that the player has more choice? (and it creates virtual obstacles too!)

Developer

Hello. Thank you for playing my game and leaving a comment. I think you are right in stating that it might be a bit too luck-based. And the idea of having multiple apples to give the player more choice had been in my mind since the start and I would've loved to implement it. But, I was very pressed on time due to which I couldn't do it. Thank you for your constructive feedback. I really appreciate it :)
