Such a clever take on the 20 seconds format, I love it!

I didn't like platformer parts too much, especially since dying makes you restart the whole level (very frustrating).
The main "selling point" of your game is clearly that you can move and carry your rocky pals, and so I would have expected more interactions in that sense (make them platform, make them tank hits etc...).
Nevertheless, I liked the story and the atmosphere and I think it has potential.
Seeing that you plan on continuing working on the game, I'm curious as to what direction it will take!
I felt quite engaged but didn't manage to do a perfect run.
Graphically the game is clear and consistent, nothing to say about it.
Gameplay wise it's good! I was a bit confused about the mapping at first, but after a few tries it became more clear. My biggest issue was that I found it hard to wall jump and considering it's needed to reach upper enemies it was probably my biggest block.
Ranking system is a very nice touch and was the sole reason I restarted the game multiple times!
I absolutely love that you took introspection as a theme!
I found your game great, the delivery is simple yet impactful.
Maybe it could be improved on one point though, that is, that when you answer the question, Stranger just leaves it at that and it feels a bit empty.
I think it would've been cool if Stranger gave his own answer, maybe? Make it feel like a real conversation and give some alternative view to the player?
I do realize it would've been a lot of work with that many question.
Arcade mode didn't quite do it for me but Campaign mode was quite fun! I think levels are well put together and overall feeling of the game is good.
BTW, your menu doesn't scale with screen size and outside of windowed mode I can't see the buttons. To fix that you should use mode "Scale with screen size" on your canvas scaler component ;)
Wow, thanks so much for giving such a complete analysis! I absolutely love that you took time to write in such details!
I agree with all of what you said, and while I was very aware that the game (and especially controls) are difficult, you highlighted very well points that I would not have thought of as much by playing by myself.
I'm going update the game soonish (it's still missing important art too), and so I'll try to tackle most of these issues in the process.
I'll make a post on the discord server when it is done, so be sure to try the game again if you have time!
I really like how you interpreted "musical fruit", it's a very fun way to have a song about music without being a rhythm game :)
I had an issue with controls though, as I'm using an AZERTY keyboard (from France), it seems Q and W are not recorded correctly!
I think what's happening is your engine is recognizing the right key (by position) but your character check makes it wrong, which means I can't play in normal or hard mode! :(
Good game with a bit of challenge!
Gravity works nicely, it forced me to think differently and I could see different approaches to the level. Giving momentum from the start was quite clever BTW.
I don't have much negative things to say.
Maybe the shooting part was a bit weird? Once I realized I could shoot continuously it felt like shooting all the time was a good strategy (but should it be?), but before that it felt a bit too hard to target the enemies.
Thanks for all those encouraging words!
If I may ask a question, did you try controller controls and if yes, how intuitive did you find them?
One big think i've been wondering about is if "FPS Style" controls (as is right now in the game) or "Racing game Style" (Rotate with left stick and strafe with right stick) controls would be better for a complete novice. What's your opinion from your experience?
This game has very good "feel" and pleasant minigames, it's incredible!
My only letdown is that I kinda expected to have to count the time in my head to release the closest to 20s but it turns out it's not explicitly needed. Like maybe a nice ultimate achievement would've been "release between 19,5s and 20s" or something of the sort?
