Such a clever take on the 20 seconds format, I love it!

Is it really possible to collect all the slimes or is this propaganda to make us more efficient?

Cool game btw, I think it would be even more satisfying with some more juice! (slime juice, that is)

This is good! Only wish it had a bit of music!

(Also, thanks for supporting controllers)

Frustrating in a good way, I think it works as it is!

It's also nice that you gave progression to learn simple recipes first.

A bit confusing at first, but I quite like it, the concept is original and the presentation is on point.

Yup, unfortunately this issue is tied to how browsers handle "locked" mouse games and I couldn't find a remedy. Hopefully it hasn't altered your appreciation of the game too much!

I see how you did that, well done

I felt the gameplay part were a bit short and weak, but the ambiance, narration and story were great!

Overall I had a nice time!

That's weird. Did you enter the first arena room, the one after a long vertical corridor you fall into? (did the music change and did you notice enemies spawning in waves?)

If not, either you got a bug or you didn't find the path to go there!

The fight lacks deeply in feedback. And so I guessed I should have to guard while the boss was rushing me but I wasn't even sure? This and the fact that you have only one life so understanding how things work take too long.

Very good game, love the juice! I think the rooms are too plentiful and too repetitive but the bosses kinda make up for it :)

Very original mechanic and story, it's a bit hard to control the tower though!

I'm not a masochist and so I didn't torture myself to make the full climb, still, I think your game is original and well designed, it was a good experience!

I didn't like platformer parts too much, especially since dying makes you restart the whole level (very frustrating).

The main "selling point" of your game is clearly that you can move and carry your rocky pals, and so I would have expected more interactions in that sense (make them platform, make them tank hits etc...).

Nevertheless, I liked the story and the atmosphere and I think it has potential.

Seeing that you plan on continuing working on the game, I'm curious as to what direction it will take!

Very clean submission! love the feel, love the look, puzzles were nice.

My only remark is it feels odd to have such a chill music, otherwise there's not much to say, congrats!

Game seems very complete and has a nice ambiance, unfortunately I couldn't shoot enemies at night and without a tutorial I didn't know what I had to do

Nice original game, unfortunately the first (?) boss is very confusing and I couldn't pass him.

I think screen transitions could be handled better but otherwise I liked the experience

Masterpiece, incredible graphics

Oh my, you completed extreme? Congratulations! Did you play on mouse/keyboard or controller?

I felt quite engaged but didn't manage to do a perfect run.

Graphically the game is clear and consistent, nothing to say about it.

Gameplay wise it's good! I was a bit confused about the mapping at first, but after a few tries it became more clear. My biggest issue was that I found it hard to wall jump and considering it's needed to reach upper enemies it was probably my biggest block.

Ranking system is a very nice touch and was the sole reason I restarted the game multiple times!

Enjoyable gameplay, clean graphics, funny storyline, and most of all a relatable MC...

Purrfect.

I absolutely love that you took introspection as a theme!

I found your game great, the delivery is simple yet impactful.

Maybe it could be improved on one point though, that is, that when you answer the question, Stranger just leaves it at that and it feels a bit empty.

I think it would've been cool if Stranger gave his own answer, maybe? Make it feel like a real conversation and give some alternative view to the player?

I do realize it would've been a lot of work with that many question.

Arcade mode didn't quite do it for me but Campaign mode was quite fun! I think levels are well put together and overall feeling of the game is good.

BTW, your menu doesn't scale with screen size and outside of windowed mode I can't see the buttons. To fix that you should use mode "Scale with screen size" on your canvas scaler component ;)

Wow, thanks so much for giving such a complete analysis! I absolutely love that you took time to write in such details!

I agree with all of what you said, and while I was very aware that the game (and especially controls) are difficult, you highlighted very well points that I would not have thought of as much by playing by myself.

I'm going update the game soonish (it's still missing important art too), and so I'll try to tackle most of these issues in the process.

I'll make a post on the discord server when it is done, so be sure to try the game again if you have time!

I really like how you interpreted "musical fruit", it's a very fun way to have a song about music without being a rhythm game :)

I had an issue with controls though, as I'm using an AZERTY keyboard (from France), it seems Q and W are not recorded correctly!

I think what's happening is your engine is recognizing the right key (by position) but your character check makes it wrong, which means I can't play in normal or hard mode! :(

This was very fun and original!

I didn't think this would be challenging but it actually is in a way!

Congratulations on your first gamejam! :)

Good game with a bit of challenge!

Gravity works nicely, it forced me to think differently and I could see different approaches to the level. Giving momentum from the start was quite clever BTW.

I don't have much negative things to say.

Maybe the shooting part was a bit weird? Once I realized I could shoot continuously it felt like shooting all the time was a good strategy (but should it be?), but before that it felt a bit too hard to target the enemies.

Very original presentation, I love it! (even if a bit confusing at first)

The gameplay part is a bit chaotic, but it works!

The concept is great and the artstyle serves the game very well, unfortunately the game has some long load times and some short freezes on my browser.

I also would've loved to be able to restart midway!

Overall great submission, fun and fair!

I liked the game mechanics, they translate very well to the 20s format!

Only thing missing in my opinion would be some (even very tame) background music.

But overall it's great!

Thanks for all those encouraging words!

If I may ask a question, did you try controller controls and if yes, how intuitive did you find them?

One big think i've been wondering about is if "FPS Style" controls (as is right now in the game) or "Racing game Style" (Rotate with left stick and strafe with right stick) controls would be better for a complete novice. What's your opinion from your experience?

Yeah, I'm aware it's hard!

Unfortunately I can't see how I could make the controls simpler to apprehend without a tutorial (which would not be in the jam's spirit)

I do hope the game was at least a bit enjoyable though! :D

Simple and effective!

It seems that by keeping my feet on the left side of the screen the fruits rarely if ever reach me, is that supposed to be normal?

Unfortunately, the game is lagging so much on browser that I can't play it!

Please check your code cause it might be a simple loop issue of some sort! (and don't hesitate to reply to me so that I can play the game)

This game has very good "feel" and pleasant minigames, it's incredible!

My only letdown is that I kinda expected to have to count the time in my head to release the closest to 20s but it turns out it's not explicitly needed. Like maybe a nice ultimate achievement would've been "release between 19,5s and 20s" or something of the sort?

Good game, I wish there were more cases! (and more difficult ones!)

Fun and clean game.

Impressive work!
