I had a ton of fun with this game. The controls were super intuitive and there were points where I just floated down and looked at all the different objects flying around me. Super hypnotizing. Loved the graphics style too! I honestly liked this MORE than downwell.

I love how you've handled the camera. It's really easy in a game of this perspective to "feel" like you're moving forward, but since you frame the camera has a first person camera and force you to jump, it really "feels" like your falling.
(my only, very minor suggestion, would be speed lines at the edge of the camera and/or lower the FOV as you speed up)

I like the arcade feel of the game.

This is super fun! I feel like you really nailed a lot of the game feel stuff from downwell (the bouncing after landing on the floating shell enemies is especially satisfying). It's a small detail, but I also really like how you preserved the Downwell thing where when you first start the game you have to make your way to the well, but once you die you respawn right next to it

Fantastic 3D adaption of the source material.

Great visual look. I wonder how well it compares to Downwell...

The GunBoots worked like a dream as well!

I haven't tried Downwell yet so I can't speak for how accurately this replicates it, but this was really fun to play! Everything came together really well - the visuals, the music, the controls were all fantastic!

Developer

updated a couple hours after the deadline to add the music and something of a difficulty curve :)

all assets were made for the jam. I worked on the music and some of the enemy models before the jam started.

I love the dithering going on here!
