A bit confusing, but I like the idea of having to be the right color to damage or take damage, especially when that goes both ways. I've seen games with that concept before, but I think something like this helps people grasp the concept a bit more easily. Good work!

Very cool idea. I like that enemies switch from neutral to damaging (I got burned once or twice haha).

It might be cool to add some logic based on the bullet color as well. Eg. the player changes colors which changes which enemies can hurt you, but ALSO the bullets change colors independently from the player. So there are times when you are on pure offense, pure defense, and both at the same time, depending on said colors.

Just an idea! I really enjoyed it.

Thanks!

Cool that you had fun haha!

Actually it is exactly like this already, white can't hurt white and black can't hurt black no matter if bullet, ship or enemy:D

That is a fun mechanic, I think some more time could have let you explore it a bit more and develop a more polished version that gives more agency to player choices and really highlights the color changes. This plays almost like a game i had on a pen once (except for the changing colors). I loved that!

Oddly enough the game almost got easier as I played, when you speed up to the point where you can hold a direction and fire 3 bullets while there every enemy dies until there is a color change

Considering a 10 hour development time, its of course not surprising that it plays more like a demo of something that could be something much more.  I would smooth out the controls rather than the jittery pixel based movement.

While this game is admittedly a bit simple, there is nothing more addictive to me than trying to beat my own score. Although the game maybe started to get a bit repetitive after a while (I think that enemies started to speed up a bit, which helped a little), watching that little number go up was pretty effective in keeping me going, haha.

I was a bit confused as to how exactly the color changing mechanic worked. It seemed that maybe I was able to shoot enemies when they were one color, but not the other? I didn't totally understand it, and it unfortunately seemed to have very little effect on the actual gameplay.

But besides that, this is just good, simple fun. Isn't anything wrong with that!

Thanks for your words, really appreciate it :D
I ran out of time for a proper tutorial so i tried it with this help screen so yes every color in the game has an effect on the other, the  white spaceship e.g. is invincible against white enemies

Not a bad mini game :)

I thought the sounds worked great but I struggled to understand what you had to do once the enemies change color. I still don't fully get it, so maybe a little popup, or scene with only a couple enemies to teach us what is about to happen, before it does.

I tried looking at the Help screen (Esc) but it wasn't obvious what I had to do.

Fun little game either way :)

Thank you for the feedback :) Good to know that it was not obvious!
