I am so thrilled that this is your first  game!

Congrats for your work!

I need to point out some stuff that might be useful to improve yourself, and that's what game jams are about.

Welp, to start it, we should talk about mechanics. I think there could be a better way of spawning enemies. They just keep coming like crazyyy from the same spots and if I find the spawnpoint I can just keep shooting at it and I won't be in trouble. So, it would be easy to break highscores in this way.

Also, there is a bug, that I get to some level that I will fall through the floor and I can't play anymoer, so I have to close the game and re-open it to be able to play it again.

It is sad that there is no music, it would give more personality to the game.

Anyways, with improvement, gameplay would be cooler. I like that it is a frenetic game and I like the way we aim at the enemies.

Keep on doing it and improving yourself! For a first game (and also considering the time given), you did a nice job!

Congrats!

Knife fight in a phone booth may be an understatement haha. I felt like I needed more room, or rapid fire, or grenades or something haha.

Fun concept, just needs some values tweaking so noobs like me don't get swarmed World War Z style.

Thanks!

Such a simple, yet fun concept! I like that the two types of zombies have different movement. The only thing is that in most maps, there's a spot where you can just stand and rack up points without risk. I think if you created more enemy spawners while proportionally decreasing the spawn rate, you could have a game where the player is constantly on his/her toes, trying to find out where the zombie is coming from.
The art style is amazing! It's kinda creepy, especially when the zombies start spawning. The first time, I was overwhelmed very quickly, which fits in with the zombie apocalypse theme. And of course, the art style is pretty retro. Love it!

Great art style, I love this kind of control scheme for a simple action scroller.  Its a frantic knife fight in a phone booth feel.  Great work and congrats on doing your first game jam!

Thank you!

Fun little game! It's quite simple, but it does everything I think it needs to do. I dig your art style too, with the thick black outlines giving everything a sort of cartoon-y  pop.

Being able to hold down the mouse to shoot rapidly would be a great addition; my frantic clicking started to be a bit uncomfortable to me, and probably to my trackpad as well after a little while, haha. I also think, if your planning on working on this anymore, if a bit of a difficulty ramp would be nice. Maybe just having spawn rates steadily increase as the game goes on. I know that kind of thing can be hard to balance nicely in a jam though.

Overall, great work! Wouldn't have picked this out as a first game, which is always a good sign of things to come!

Thanks for your feedback and ideas, I'll try improving this game soon.

Neat game. Two problems: The hit-sound when the bullet collides with the enemy is loud regardless of the volume you set in the settings menu. Also, there's no pause-option to this game

Everything else would be nitpicking. Cheers! ~

Thanks for trying out my game and letting me know of this bug. I'll try to fix it soon!

Cheers to your first game jam!

To start with, here are some things I liked:

- The graphics, specifically the background. It felt like a chaotic kind of good, and I don't know, I just really loved it haha.

- The SFX feel good for what they do. Good picks!

- The HUD is clear and does exactly what it has to do.

- Volume bar in the options panel! <3

Now some tips I feel like they might be helpful for future game jams:

- The SFX, while good, are really off when it comes to volume levels. Some are very loud, some are way lower. This can be fixed rather easily by using a (free) tool such as Audacity. Drop your audio file in there, ctrl + a the entire track, go to "Effects" select "Amplify" and it'll automatically adjust the volume to the maximum volume without it hitting the red- if you do this for all of the audio, they'll all be on the same level.

- In a game like this with short fire rates, it might be beneficial to put on an "autoshoot" option by just holding the mouse button.

Besides that, I feel like you did great delivering your first playable game jam game ever, and hopefully you enjoyed it enough to do more of those in the future; it will only get better!

Thanks for your submission <3

Thanks a lot! I'll fix the volume issues and might add an auto shoot feature soon. I think some sounds were super loud because there were multiple monsters in the same spot.
