Love this idea! Fun but challenging to keep your bacteria isolated from enemies. Simple and enjoyable.

Nice theme and idea

Wow, it's a really interesting game with cool mechanics. I look forward to the intervention of paramecium and mutations!

googles paramecium

Cool game! It's a shame that sometimes the random values make you lose instantly. It should be good to make the initial pH confortable to the bacteria, or maybe make them "inmortal" for a couple of seconds to let you time to think about what you could do to make them confortable.

Very basic concept but it actually works, I can see it transferring to a mobile device quite easily.  I actually think you might be on to something here mechanically especially as a mobile game.  There is a lot of great design space here and I like the unique theme.  Well done!

Developer

Thank you. We’ll see if I go back to it and actually work on it more; I’m a bit burned out on it at the moment 😅

This was actually a lot of fun! The core concept is solid and you expanded on it really well. Some sound would have gone a long way but I definitely understand not having enough time for it. Overall, great puzzle-like game!

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I planned on using a sound pack I had purchased back in the day for video editing, but time ran away from me.

Nice idea, i guess it was hard to put it all together, combine didatics with gameplay is not easy, congrats

I had a Godot black belt come into chat about half-way through the jam that helped me fix an issue where the microbes would exit outside of the dish. Unfortunately it meant redoing most of everything when it came to movement and interactions, which ate a lot of time and I learned a bunch of stuff 😅. So the movement actually looked better before, more microbes-in-a-petri-dish-like, but this way they all stay inside the play area.

Bugs are a great opportunity, probably the easies and fastest way to learn something!

It was a really nice concept. Loved the use of the art assets. I did get stuck at a level with 2 anti virals and pH target of 7 for some reason. Overall good use of the theme.

Developer

Huh, haven’t encountering getting stuck before, but that might be because I know how the mechanics work. Perhaps you got the pH within tolerance, but not close enough to comfort, meaning there was no growth 🤔

Very entertaining and fun!

Glad you enjoyed it 😊

Pretty neat concepts with juggling the solutions. The transition between levels after meeting the objective does seem a little slow though.

Developer

I could probably speed up the growth even more if there are no enemies and the pH level is on target 🤔

Cool game! Very exciting to see this unique take on the theme!

Thank you. I tend to troll by stretching words, and this is as far as I could get it at the time 😁
