The layers are a really interesting approach. Nicely done.

googles paramecium

Thank you. We’ll see if I go back to it and actually work on it more; I’m a bit burned out on it at the moment 😅

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I planned on using a sound pack I had purchased back in the day for video editing, but time ran away from me.

I had a Godot black belt come into chat about half-way through the jam that helped me fix an issue where the microbes would exit outside of the dish. Unfortunately it meant redoing most of everything when it came to movement and interactions, which ate a lot of time and I learned a bunch of stuff 😅. So the movement actually looked better before, more microbes-in-a-petri-dish-like, but this way they all stay inside the play area.

Huh, haven’t encountering getting stuck before, but that might be because I know how the mechanics work. Perhaps you got the pH within tolerance, but not close enough to comfort, meaning there was no growth 🤔

Glad you enjoyed it 😊

I could probably speed up the growth even more if there are no enemies and the pH level is on target 🤔

Thank you. I tend to troll by stretching words, and this is as far as I could get it at the time 😁

All microbes start each level with a pH comfort and pH tolerance that are supposed to be within range of the starting pH, and sometimes (quite often, actually) RNGesus says “Nah”

I love how this looks. And the gameplay is really neat.

They’re so fragile! 😄

That got super tricky 😅

I managed to fall off the map when I shouldn’t have though 😅

I believe the music conveyed the isolation the most.

Stuck on the table, but extremely nice entry 😄

I couldn’t find a reason to use the large jump, because the middle jump cleared everything anyway, without the risk of jumping to high

Neat 🙂

Took a few tries to understand the mechanics entirely (without reading the manual), but then it was just math 🙂

That was NOT what I expected 😅

Make it bigger and put it on steam and you have my money!

How’d you pull this off so quickly?! 😱

If this was further developed into a larger release I would definitely buy it

Dafuq?! 😂

Hectic 😅

Fairly certain this is a gateway to clicker games 😁

Wow, that got super tricky 😅

That kept me quite busy for a while 😅

That was beautiful, and really cute. Music was gorgeous.

Gorgeous!

I’ve never been so frustrated reloading 😅

That was cozy. Really like the music, art, font, and the presentation in general 🥰

I think the walkways were built while using the same flashlight.

That was amazing. And the music was beautiful.

Now I feel bad for my dogs

Seems to have an issue that doesn’t despawn things, and the game slows down to a powerpoint 😅 But it was cool.

Took a while before I started to notice things. Really good entry

So that was terrifying

Super cool take.

A thing to consider when making vehicle games like this would be that when reversing it’s expected to have the left/right reversed, because that’s how a vehicle handles
