Good amount of mechanics and I think you've set yourself a nice base to expand upon if you choose to do so. Oh, and I read the book so ++points ;)

Thanks! It's been a long time since I've read it but when I thought about being isolated in the woods, it was the very first thing that came to mind xD

Really great starting point for a survival game, you achieved quite a bit in a short 5 day span.  As one developer to another, I see what you did there.  Great work.

Thanks! I ended up cutting so many features down the stretch that I really was feeling it might be too barebones, so I'm glad to hear that there was still enough to make it to build a solid base.

I kept boiling water, but never seemed to be able to drink it :(

Developer

Sorry for the confusion on that! Boiling the water changes it from dirty to clean water. To drink it, you actually have to press a separate button (but it does not consume an action). If you are using a keyboard then it would be the E key or on controllers it is the right shoulder button. I wanted to make a tutorial to explain things better but really ran out of time for a lot of quality of life features like that :(

Nice survival game. It feels like you can expand alot on what you have here. i like that you have a certain amount of actions before you need to sleep. It's a bit too easy right now, but if you decide to expand on it it feels like you could add a lot of different interesting mechanics! good job!

Developer

Thanks! I definitely had a lot more ideas that ended up having to get cut down the final stretch. I originally planned to have good and bad berries, animals that you could hunt or that would act as threats, fishing, etc but I just didn't end up having enough time over the weekend to work on it. Definitely ended up being a bit too easy in its current form.

Cozy Survival Game!

That kept me quite busy for a while 😅

Developer

I'm glad it could keep you busy! I had to cut so many features down the stretch that I was worried it wouldn't have enough to really entertain people, so that's a relief to hear that I got enough in to still have fun.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely tried to go with a track the would be fairly relaxing so I'm glad it ended up feeling that way.
