How did you implement the Theme and Special Object?
You play as Santa making gift for parents before Christmas day.
The anvil is used to make the gifts / you have 3 different anvils used to make different tier gifts.

I like Santas animation - and the gameplay was fun! At first bit confused and didnt feel intuitive but after the first couple of presents I was fine. A short Intro Image of the Colors and Instructions could help Players get into the game more easily. Nice Concept and Graphics, had fun playing ! :)

Thanks!
Already got a tutorial ready up to be put in after the Jams done.

Neat concept but I found it became repetitive, all in all really liked the game though. Well done.

Really cool. I liked music

Nice work. I got to about 400 cookies. 12 minutes is definitely too long but to be fair there's some nice challenge escalation from the left to the right anvil plus requiring extra presents. I liked the music too.

At first, I was a dumb dumb and didn't know how this worked until I saw the helping Elf and was like "oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." I certainly think the crafting recipe should be in the help/tutorial section on the main menu or smth like that.

I don't have much to add other than what the previous two have said. I'm just here to say that I like Santa belly jiggle physics.

After the Jam ... I'll make sure to add a tutorial

I think your game is interesting, but seemed to take a while to get going.  The music loop was a bit too short for me, but I liked the in-game aesthetic. The instructions, to me, weren't very clear at the beginning, but I understood after running into some things.  I also agree with DemonsAteMySandwich's comments before mine.

Thanks for the feedback!
One thing I forgot/ didn't think about... it was a way to guide the player towards the helping elf to get information on what you had to do.
-Should I have just explained it at the start "Show the screen with all the gifts on how to make them"  or

-Should I have just highlighted that elf more?

Also if you dont mind.. check out my comment on DemonsAteMySandwich's post

Yeah I think maybe showing it at the start might have helped and then having the elf always available to go revisit like you had.

Read the other comment, too.  Thank you for responding!

To me, this seems like a game with a lot potential that just slightly misses the mark. The main gameplay loop and crafting/upgrading system is very promising, but in practice the game just doesn't feel all that fun.

I'd  say this mainly has to do with the lack of threat and motivation. A 12 minute marker at the beginning of the game is just a bit too much, especially for a rather repetitive gameplay loop. That together with the fact that the levels increase only very slowly make it so that after a few minutes, the game starts to feel stale.

That being said, I think that some small tweaks could improve the experience a lot. Some suggestions are:

- reduce total time / time between levels. You could try breaking the total time up into sub-counters, where e.g. you have multiple rounds of two minutes to gain as many points as possible.

- Add more elements to the game, such as obstacles or enemies that gradually appear, making walking around more of a challenge.

- The addition of power-ups, a boost meter that slowly builds up, etc.

But then again, this is of course just one opinion, so feel free to do with it whatever you want!

Thanks for the  feedback.

Some info about my thought process while making the game

1 - I knew the 12 minute marker was too long, the only reason I did it was to reference the "The Twelve Days of Christmas" / "12 Hours Before Christmas".
2 - Something that was planned to be added but I didnt have the time to implemented, was a different way to craft the gifts by the anvil and get the gift materials... "A quick time event".

3 - You played as two characters Santa and an Elf (Explaining the gameplay I would of implemented might be hard without a visual)
