How is your game related to the special object and theme?
Christmas - You play as Santa's cat, Snowball, delivering gifts on Christmas Eve night after his reindeer fleet are too unwell to fly.

Momentum - The game plays at a constant speed (momentum) but can be adjusted by the user. Failure to keep this momentum ends in game over!

Special Object - Snowball is fuelled via Candy Canes, if they run out f energy it's game over. Candy Canes can be collected throughout the level to keep their energy high.

Cute game! I really liked the intro cut scene. The gameplay was a little too hard for me before I figured out how to slow down the momentum. My one comment on that is to make the momentum setting available in the main menu and not just the pause menu.

Very cute and fun game with really impressive artwork! Only thing that is a bit frustrating is getting stuck on walls when you jump. Having the player slide along walls would make the game feel a lot better. Nice work all around!

Hey there! Loved this game and managed to beat it on my 3rd attempt!

I have a few points of feedback if you’re interested:

  1. I often felt like I was getting stuck on the corner of the buildings when I tried jumping onto them. I’m not sure if this is because the cat has a square collider, or if there’s a lot of friction being applied, but it felt off. If the cat does have a square collider, maybe try swapping it out for a circle and disabling rotation, on the other hand if it’s because of friction, a lot of game engines have a setting to disable / lower friction.

  2. On my 3rd and final run I was limited by the speed of the screen. I was standing at the right edge just waiting for it to advance. Maybe if the player gets to the right, the screen should move with them so that faster players can complete the game at a faster pace.

  3. It seems the animations play a full cycle of the animation before switching. For example if I’m walking, and I stop, it will finish the walk cycle before sitting. In Unity you can disable this using something like Exit time.

Overall, this was great!

Thanks! Really appreciate the information,  we will adjust these once the voting is over. This is our first time working with a 2d platformer, so the collider info especially is super helpful.

Just an FYI you can change the speed in the settings to go faster/slower :)

Fun little game! i seem to really like the cat ones because I've finished any I've come across. Good job!

Cat-themed things tend to have that effect ;) Thanks for playing!

Amazing! I love the humour and the overall story. Had a blast!

Also may I have a little interview about the symptoms of Festive Farts?

Developer(+1)

I think most of us will be aware of the symptoms after the last few days :’)

Many thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

Cool! I made a game that has a cat named Snowball as the main character, too!

This was a fun, cute, and short game. I liked it!
