Pretty much gonna echo what the other comments have said. Took me a sec to figure it out, but when I did I thought it was pretty fun! I also agree that, at present, the game is hard to beat if you play fair. I tries many times to beat the game without using the leave location exploit, but I just couldn't get past Tokyo. Overall a fun little experience that I'd love to see a full version of!

Glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback!

Really cool idea and fun use of the prompt! Took me a little bit to figure out the rules and how to even get the game started, but it was fairly smooth sailing once I did!

I also had to use the leave location exploit, the game very much didn't feel beatable without using it at least a little unfortunately. I think increasing the draw size on end turn would alleviate that a great deal, only drawing 2 cards per day feels very limiting especially when you're not guaranteed to come across every clue in one run of a location's deck (went all the way through tokyo without finding all 6!).

That aside, I had a lot of fun with this! Would absolutely play a full version if y'all continue working on it!

Great feedback!

Yeah. We kinda ran out of time for design polish, and some prototype code snuck into the build. Oops!

Still, I definitely identify with your comments.

Took a while to figure out the rules, but once I did I had a good time. Loved the Krampus parts in the boxes. Wonderfully creepy and light-hearted. I'd love to see the concept fleshed out.

Thanks!

I love the idea behind this game. Having themed decks for different locations gives you the sense that it's a globetrotting adventure - it reminds me of parts of Eldritch Horror, in a distilled form. Krampus getting dismembered and put into different gift boxes is both a fun visual and gives you a clear, obvious goal. The 25-day countdown is a nice touch that reinforces the theme, and again makes the goal + stakes very clear.

The biggest issue I found was that there's no penalty for leaving a location, then immediately returning to that location. Because of this, you can keep reshuffling until you have the right cards to immediately gain a clue or item. By itself, that's not a huge issue - if it's clearly an exploit, I can choose to just not use it. But it also seems impossible to beat the game without doing some amount of that, and there aren't many other options on your turn, leaving me unsure of whether or not I was playing the right way.

Still, overall, I enjoyed the game and I'm impressed with what y'all got done in such a short timeframe!

Absolutely! Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah. There were definitely a few rough edges that made their way into the final.

I'm cleaning some of that up for a 1.1 upload, alongside the Jam build. Some of those flaws are definitely not tolerable. :D
