Fun little puzzle game with an interesting take on order-of-operations with the way the environment changes. Very cute and cozy with a good level of brain scratching

I totally had an "oh snap!" moment when the season changing mechanic was introduced! This definitely feels like a game concept that shows its potential for depth immediately, and I could absolutely see this expanded upon into some really mind-bending challenges. The last level genuinely took me a little while to figure out, and I think the ramp in difficulty was also really well though out!

lovvvve me a litte sokoban action! I think the ice adds a nice little twist to a tried and true formula. I feel like I cheesed the last level, cause I didn't interact with the two puddles at all, but hey, I still had a fun time figuring it out! I know you said you wanna keep working on this, and I think an undo button like Alosha had mentioned would be a great QOL addition. Beyond that- I want more, and that's a good thing to leave me wanting!

aaaa, thank you so much!! Legit hearing people say they want more is so damn rewarding, there will 100% be more coming! Also, i was wondering if anyone was gonna manage to cheese it or not haha, I tried to keep things as tight as possible but players find a way i guess!

Cozy vibes and some neat little puzzles. I know time is limited, but would have loved to have just as cozy a soundtrack at least!

Great job tutorializing, can't wait to see how crazy these puzzles can get.

Developer

thank you!! yeah, audio is def a big next step. I've never really done audio so i think it'll be a really fun learning experience haha. I'm glad the tutorials worked out! I was really trying to go for an incremental learning thing. I think in the next pass i might have a few normal levels in between each tutorial to kinda further cement those patterns in players

This was a lot of fun! Reminded me of all those block-pushing puzzles in Zelda and Pokemon. I'd love to play even more puzzles like this.

Developer

Thank you! Pokemon was actually the biggest inspiration here! I always really liked those puzzles but I felt like GF never really expanded on them enough lol, more puzzles to come in the future for sure!

Solid game! It does a good job of introducing concepts gradually and building on them

Thank you! That was a pretty big focus when I was setting the levels up, I really wanted to make sure players had every tool in their belt they needed to succeed. Def gonna continue focusing on that when I get back to making more levels!

Cool interpretation of your prompt, I can see it getting crunchier and lofi-er to really let the mood set in. Puzzle games are a great genre for getting the cozy feel in (while also providing enough challenge to keep the player engage. I'll admit, I am a bit stupid. So I did not get too far into the game, but the possibilities of the basic ice and snow mechanics alone can take you real far, which is one of the fun things about working in a genre like this. A catchy bgm loop can really help people lock in some hours here!

You mentioned on the itch page that this was a big learning experience, so I hope the below isn't super intense. These are just some immediate observations/feedback from someone who has played through a couple puzzle games this year:

- Undo button! As someone who is stupid, I sometimes forget what certain mechanics do. It can be pretty deflating committing to a move not fully understanding what's going to happen, then being forced to start from the very beginning. If that is the level of challenge you want, the world is your oyster. I am just used to the likes of puzzle games like Baba is You and Void Stranger giving you the ability to undo your last turn (or last 10 turns) rather than starting over from the very beginning every time.

- Faster character movement! You had already mentioned the animation in your page, but I feel like the movement is a far more important part of the experience. Ironically, despite being slower games, players usually expect snappier controls. This is especially the case when you have to redo several turns or an entire stage (which brings back the importance of point 1, as well.)

Developer

Thank you!! yea i feel like there's still so much room to play around with just the few mechanics I've got in, but there's still so many more elements I want to throw in :). Out of curiosity, which puzzle did you get stuck on?

Also thank you so much for the feedback! Funny enough, I actually had a rewind system (with bookmarks!) planned, but I didn't wind up having the time to put it in lol. Audio is a big thing too for sure, I'm gonna be spending time in the FL studio mines figuring my way through that haha. Also yes, faster movement for sure!! that was something i'd heard back from quite a few people so it's def top of the docket!

Thanks again for playing and putting all that thought into feedback, it's greatly appreciated!!

I basically got stuck at the part where it says to "test all you've learned so far." Apparently I am bad at learning because I forgot about something specific with the ice/sludge and how they worked together? So an undo button in that instance would have been nice to experiment in individual turns rather than having to reset the stage and try to retrace my steps.

Developer

aaaah actually that one's on me lol, i didn't put that the slush effect works on ice in the tutorial! I def should have in hindsight, i was kinda worried about that interaction not being clear. Yeah, an undo is definitely gonna be necessary. Thanks!

lovely little puzzle game! i love a good block pusher. the puzzles were fun and had me thinking a few moments, kinda reminded me of playing push pipe paradise! great use of the jam theme, and i love the little bunny character! you also walk the player through how to play really well! would love to see what more you could do with this concept.

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!!! It makes me so happy to hear all that,  like it's legit so validating! I'm def gonna keep working on it cause there's still so much I want to do haha, i feel like i've barely scratched the surface of what I can do with what's in the game already
