As an actual (intern) architect I definitely approve of the game concept!! It's a clever and original idea for a kaiju-themed game, and definitely not what would come to most peoples minds when picturing a Kaiju game. It was pretty fun, but I definitely think it could have used a bit of a longer timer, and/or the ability to instantly swap between building and non-building modes (perhaps a toggle, or holding the button?), instead of the button just temporarily disabling building. Overall, nice job on this!

Surprisingly addictive. I liked the mechanic, and I think some music or sound could have pushed this up a level, but as is the core loop is really solid!

A unique and cute take on the theme :)

I think sound & music would have elevated the experience, the silence feels a bit sterile.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you feel that way.  I 100% agree! I definitely need to elevate sound/music as a priority in future projects, as it really does help to enhance the experience overall. Thank you for taking the time to play it and leaving a comment. I really appreciate the feedback!

Really neat mechanic, also Bronty is super cute! Would have loved some audio and some more blueprints!

Developer

Hey thanks! Totally agree on the audio. Seeing all constructive comments left by the community is really pushing me into wanting to fix up the game and polishing it. One fix would definitely be fixing the blueprint system, as the current system  is pretty poopy and rather than choosing a blueprint at random, it likes to  pick the same 3 or 2  over and over again when there are 17/18  more to go lol. Anyway, thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback! Truly appreciated!

The time limit is really harsh for this kind of game, and the kaiju's hitbox feels way too big, so you end up clearing more boxes than you mean to.

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Agreed. Time limit, along with scoring, was a big problem to figure out. I definitely over complicated what could've been an easy solution. Hit boxes definitely need to get fixed up as well. While I said I do like the nuance of being able to hit to two "tiles" at a time, there is something just off with it. Definitely need to get friends to play test, but I'm happy to get feedback from everyone, really helpful!
Thanks for your time and leaving feedback! I really appreciate it and the words of encouragement!

As others said it is very original! The concept is really fun and interesting, the only complaint I had, was the difficulty of the scenarios at the beginning and the lack of a soundtrack, I could see this being a relaxing game, with a bit of difficulty building up. Great idea though!

Developer

Thanks! I had a blast working on it, and I'm glad the overall concept has been so well received! Totally in agreement with everyone posting here. Soundtrack/audio is just one of those elements you can't pass up, especially with a game like this. It just needs that extra bit of feedback and "color" to make the game feel more lively. And yeah playing back again after a few days, even with 'e' (which is barely functioning lol) there are just some levels that are a little too wacky. Throw on the unforgiving time limit and it brings down the fun and relaxing aspects the game could have to offer.

Thank you for taking the time to play it and leave feedback! I can't state it enough how much I appreciate the words of encouragement from you and everyone else!

The idea is original, and for a little while it's a fun game. As you say in the description, the game was put togheter in a hurry so the main mechaninc wasn't explored, but it works. I think something really fun could come out of it with a little work, keep it up

Developer

Thanks for playing it! I'm definitely reinvigorated by the comments everyone has left and want to really take whats here, fix it up and try to make it into something more enjoyable, maybe even a little relaxing. While the game was made in a hurry, I feel that despite the lack of time it was really the poor planning and time management. As well as primarily being an artist the desire to do art grew with every bit of line of code. All at the cost of some really important features, such as; level difficulty/scaling,  scoring, audio/music,  level diversity, hit-boxes, etc. But that's whats great about failure, you come away learning what to do better for the next round!

Thank you for your time and the kind words! I will definitely take what I've learned here and improve this game, as well as my overall dev process for future games! Really appreciate the feedback!
