How does your game incorporate the theme?
The idea is simple - the player must pick the same dice as his CPU opponent, thus forming a combination to score a point. There is also a scenario where both the player and the CPU avoid picking exactly the same dice - which would also allow them to stay in the leaderboards.

The music is successful and the idea of the game is interesting.

For some reason I really liked this game but I agree that it’d be great if there was some way to form a strategy, either tells (as described below) or a way to see a history of past decisions by the opponent to see if we can guess their strategy (and even cooler, if different colored opponents actually have different strategies under the hood)

Thank you! :)

Read the title as Google Royale at first and was confused by the gameplay haha. Interesting little game theory experiment. Nice job with the polish for all the animations.

Ok, I would be very surprised if you say that you aren't a fan of Game theory.

I was pleasantly surprised by how deep the dice picking mechanic is, then I kept dying even when I figured out how to win, that's when I realized you are supposed to stay in the middle of the pack - an idea that someone impressed me even more. Most jam games wouldn't even have one good idea, and you have two, so congrats!

  • As mentioned by a commenter below: make the ties favor the player. I'm pretty sure some rounds are unwinnable if you don't do this and it helps with the randomness.
  • I would let the amounts of win and losses be "somewhat" predictable each round, maybe by making each players actually play each other? Not really sure.
  • Some sort of "tell" from the enemy would be great, like if their colors indicates the strategy they are about to play.
  • This is more of a nitpick about the aesthetic, but if I were to make the exact same idea, I would definitely would have use the poker cards from the 1-bit pack. After all, a card counter trying to hide the fact that they are card-counting by trying to stay in the middle-of-the-pack sounds perfect to me - but this is a relatively unimportant detail.

Good game! Really enjoyed it. (Didn't even won once though)

Thanks for the feedback! I like your solutions for some of the issues.

Had this in mind during development - but thought it would make the game too easy. I see it now as a fair addition :D

Very nice UI. It was a little hard not to die.

I thought the mechanics of the game were simplified through the design (mainly the highlights and sfx), and that isn't easy to accomplish - especially in 48 hours. Simple yet fun, congrats!

I quite liked your game. The game has a nice aesthetic, and plays very smoothly. Highlighting which dice your opponent has played is a really nice touch. When the points appear, the visuals are a nice effect, but the music is very sharp (high pitch and loud) making it uncomfortable to listen to. I was also disappointed when I first lost. After the third round, it was clear what I needed to do, but how your score is calculated seemed to be unintuitive. I had seemingly the same number of wins and losses as the one left of me, but I was eliminated. One thing you can do is have ties favour the player. That might prevent me as a player to feel disappointed. I also don't think there is a lot of replay value, since you as a player have so little control. That is something to keep in mind if you want to develop this game further.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad you like it :D

I’m mad at myself I have forgot to normalize the audioClips and didn’t lower pitch for some of them - hopefully gonna remember now next time :)

This is something I have thought of and implemented minutes before upload :D Apparently it is bugged.
