Excellent use of textures and colors with the images, especially the cover depicting the magical iron mask.
The "Long time ago" section could possibly be shortened to just the most important details. All 3 of the hooks you provided were interesting. The giant golden trout and the inherited farm stood out as very intriguing.
I think you succeeded in emphasizing social interactions and puzzles, and it's easy enough to add combat to any adventure for a group of players that is looking for that.
Labelling the NPCs "Cast" and the monsters "Supporting Cast" perfectly fit the theme. I also liked that their descriptions were straight to the point.
A way to visually differentiate People and Places and Objects in the hexcrawl description sections would be helpful to grab information at a glance during play, such as a different color for their headings.
I wasn't sure if the Scenario of Play on the last page was the suggested way it should play out, how it played out for your group, or both, but either way its helpful to see that brief rundown.
Really wonderful art and layout, and a clever, original concept. Great stuff!
Very clear writing. Easy to use. I really like how you used that picture on the theater description.
Interesting scenario around the theme of acting and drama. Simple and clear layout. I agree with the other suggestion to improve the writing a bit, but is quite original and interesting so far! nice work.
Nice adventure. Pretty messed up scenario, though. If it were me playing it, I'd wonder if maybe King Hemley deserved to be overthrown, if this is his idea of justice. I also really liked your idea for the mechanic of having items become waterlogged. That's a great way to drive home the feeling of being out in a downpour all day.
Thanks, it means a lot :)
I don't see actors as default villains of the adventure, that's the Raven job, at least at the beginning. King Henley was definitely cruel (or incompetent as he couldn't lift the curse, or both) and this is valid point to consider while unraveling module's mistery. Another moral dilemma is whether actors of the play are already independent people and if so do they deserve to die (that's what will happen if masks are somehow taken off).
There's some really evocative imagery, characters, and lore to this piece, unfinished though it may be. I hope you keep working on it and fleshing it out! The biggest challenge with it (besides missing parts) is just the writing. The title could use a slight grammar tweak: maybe "Beyond Curtains of Rain" or "Beyond the Curtain of Rain"?
Thanks a lot, I will definitely develop it further. As you probably noticed I've tried to write in slogans rather than in full sentences, since it is easier to navigate during session and I'm not as much fluent in English as I would like to. Some parts of scenario were in fact cut off, and I hope to add them when I figure them out.
What a great premise for an adventure! I'd love to pair this one up with Flickering Fortress for a small micro campaign.
Appreciate it :)
