Yep, I read the instructions in the voices of those characters, and it was great! And rolling on the tables told me that Zoe requested me to disable a tooth fairy, which has me feeling conflicted. Like, I'm undercover for Mr. Rogers' hostage rescue operation, so do I disable a tooth fairy to keep on Zoe's good side? How murky does morality become when the citizens of this neighborhood are on the line? How far must we be driven???
The Countess' Castle is also a great area, and I love the bat-powered elevator. Thanks for the adventure, and the big smile I had while reading it!
Super cool. I love that your tested out the tables, Makes me happy.
For me, testing tables multiple times is part of the reading process. And when a random table has real thought put into it with a focus on usability and fun, like in yours, then it shows!
Ok, so full disclosure I didn't expect to like this as much as I did, but as I read through it, well, it's just so damn fun. My face was in a permanent smirk the entire time while reading and I think it would actually be a great change of pace from the darker fantasy I'm used to running with my groups sometimes. I liked how you wrote from the perspective of some of the characters as well.
Nice. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Your commitment to theme and choice of deisgn are enough for anything to be used out of it! While I don't have a group to run this for, I find that the humor and intention here are great inspirations for what a designer could use for their own adventures. If this isn't your thing, I'd suggest you read it anyway!
Thanks a bunch. I know that for a lot of people this isn't their thing but I tried to make it a good read.
You really did! Keep it up!! We are excited to see more from you!
Now this is something I want to play with my 3 year old. The episodic format is perfect for younger attention spans while still letting me have the fun of creating a whole world. I love that the prompts can create situations with interesting non-violent solutions so I'm not teaching my kiddo to stab her way through problems. Ha!
Thank you so much. That was part of idea. I wanted to make something that could be played quickly with kids or newcomers to the hobby.
I love how the monsters tell the GM how this game is played, so flavorful! Very interesting approach to draw the readers attention and keep the reading fun. You made a wonderful adaption of sesame street and twisted into a game that looks really enjoyable.
Thanks a bunch!
Too bad I tried to get your submission a few times. But Itch wont let me.
Oh I think you should be able to ignore the warning and download it anyway? Really crap that the system flagged me, perhaps because it was my first entry. Anyway, thanks for trying I appreciate it!
Hey I figured it out. Really awesome job. The layout is professional and I love the cut out Bog lurker minis. The map is so well done. Great job!
I think you might of found a niche for kid-friendly games, or games for grown kids who like whimsy and fun. The adventure creation table is wonderful, and I feel like this could be a seed for a whole campaign for kids...and an awesome learning tool. TTRPGs are making their way into schools, therapy, and such.
My suggestion would be a rewrite of the names and descriptions a bit (could run into copyright issues if it got big enough), but the homage to it and meat of it could stay the same. I enjoyed the core concept and delivery!
Yeah maybe the names might be too close to the real deal. Thanks!
Parody is a form of protected speech- at least in the US. And this work obviously qualifies as a parody. Your character names only need to be one letter different to avoid copyright infringement here.
This is true! Dang...I needed this argument on a few graphic design jobs...completely forgot about that. Thanks @Baiyo42
Yeah I was following the Mad magazine rule.
The Letter of the Day and Number of the Day mechanic is fantastic, I could see myself using them outside of this adventure.
Great choice to have a narrator for the booklet and I like the idea of using an episodic format for different adventures in the same location.
If I were to run this, I would probably change some of the names and try to be subtle about the source material. I think it would be a great 'a ha!' moment if players pieced it together on their own.
I love the premise! We get a lot of sesame street in my house. I'd love to see a bigger version of this; the procedural nature of it seems like it could really have legs.
Oh, that's quite silly. I don't think I would run something like this, but at least I can say I was amused while reading it.
I'm glad you liked the read. I really wanted to have the voice of some of the old Sesame Street books I read as a kid.
I'm kind of in awe of the commitment to the bit. I'm not sure what's more impressive, the concept itself or the fact that it would probably be a slam dunk at one of my goofyass home games.
I've been watching a lot of Sesame Street lately. LOL
A wonderful and fun twist that I imagine would be a great one shot scenario, especially with those new to RPGs and unsure about the standard fantasy setting.
Thanks. That's kinda of what I was going for. What could I get my family to play?
I can't help but love the idea behind this one. I could see myself using this to run a kids game of Knave or Tiny Dungeon.
Awesome, thanks a bunch!
