This was a very unique idea and I enjoyed gathering a horde of lunatics to fight slimes for me!

Keep jamming!!

Thank you for the playthrough and the comment!  There have been a few "Pikman like RPG" games, but not many.  Seems to me a natural extension of the standard RPG formula that has gone mostly underexplored.

Very cool addition to the game jam!  Congrats on getting this far, despite the bugs!  A game jam is a HUGE opportunity to learn and push past your limits.  It can also teach tips on organization, prioritization of features, performance and so many other lessons!  I hope you will continue to develop and revise this project!  It is a solid framework to expand upon!

Seriously, I do hope to play a version where our villagers can band together and help us smack down the slimes! :D

Thanks!  I have an updated HTML version that fixes the issues if you would like to check it out: https://averagedrafter.itch.io/guildieshtml

My apologies for the janky version, and I appreciate the kind words.

The idea behind this game is really great. I like the idea of leading a hoard of raiders to defend the city you love. The game did keep crashing for me. I am guessing it's due to the bug mentioned in the About Me. I like seeing the Guildies level up as they got their item. Very creative way to incorporate the theme. I hope to see more submissions from you in the future.

Thanks for the comments! My biggest regret is that I only had time to get the pieces into place and (mostly) working, but none left to polish, test, and optimize.  I'm glad I pushed my boundaries because it gave me a good start on a long term project, but unfortunately for this jam it also left the game in a much rougher state than I'd like.  I'm happy you like the overall concept and I'm excited to explore fun ways to expand the gameplay experience.  Thanks again for playing and for commenting!

edit - I watched your stream of my game on Twitch. Yep, I know the issue and I made a simple mistake.  A lot of the game wasn't metered by delta, including the scroll speed and guildie/slime production rates.  So it was scrolling too fast on your system for the little Guildies feet to catch up!  It was also PUMPING out Guildies and slimes at a higher rate than expected getting to a lot of collisions really quickly.

Thanks so much for playing the game on stream!  It was very helpful to see the performance issues, and quite encouraging to hear you enjoying the core idea even in its wonky mostly broken form.
