I get the joke. I’m not sure if I find it funny in that state, though. Imo, some message boxes that pop up every now and then, questioning the morality of the player, or criticizing the player’s actions, while also increasing the player’s score with every hit could be funnier. I think the game also has great potential in conveying a message. For example, the chance of of spawning a panda could decrease with every kill until it eventually gets so small, that none will spawn anymore which implies that they have been killed to the last single one. I think this could trigger thoughts in players and actually make them reflect about endangered species. Great potential there.
Ouch! The poor little pandas ;)
It's a bit cruel. Maybe this is meant to be sarcastic, but I don't really see anything that indicates that...
I was pretending that I was tranquilizing the pandas to save them from poachers! The gameplay was simple but good, could just use more variety. Maybe a scrolling view would be a good start just for visual variety. Also it would help to put some a time or bullet limit so there is a clear goal for the player.
I had fun killing pandas. I killed about 65, and likely would've killed more if there was a panda death audio. I felt like the hitboxes were a bit off at times, but overall I enjoyed this entry. Good job!
Hi,
"Giant Pandas are endangered, shoot them!!" - if giant pandas are endangered, then why shoot them? Maybe, on the contrary, - not shoot them? :).
P.S.
After reading the comments of other players I realized that it was humor, now it looks really cool!
I liked the sound of the shot, and the fact that it tells you when it's reloading. It was also quite atmospheric, even if you're shooting at pandas :D.
It would be good to have the following:
-- a start screen before the game itself
-- improved gameplay due to completion, for example if you reach 100 points - you win, or have some kind of timer, where for each correct shot (at the big panda) additional time is given, the game ends when the time runs out, i.e. have a game completion
-- in addition to winning, you also have a loss, if for example you hit the small panda 5 times - you lose
It was fun and surprisingly relaxing, congratulations!
I felt guilty shooting the pandas (such dark humour!) I liked the pixel art and the simple concept. I couldn't tell if my shot had hit or missed (I can only tell through the score), so perhaps a visual indication for this would be a good enhancement.
This game is so twisted and sadistic... and so much fun!
I really like the idea and concept and you definitely pulled the core mechanics off here! It feels so good to aim, place the crosshair, and then "pull the trigger"! I do not know how you got that gun sound, but it is very good for a lofi sound. The only thing missing is pulling the slide and loading another bullet in each time.
Would be really cool to see this one expanded out a bit and either add some sort of timer, or a panda kill count for advancing on. Even adding some upgrades or something too possibly and different level layouts, etc.
Nice job!
Funny game!
Would love to see this game get expanded onto further with increasing difficulty
