The game was fun, I managed to get to the end of it with perfect health! I really liked how the end scene plays out after the final wave was complete. It was also great when the horde of animals ran to each enemy, and changed targets when another enemy was closer to them.
When I wanted to place some dens, I placed nests down on the ground by accident. It looks like the tree hitboxes (corners) may be overlapping the ground area. I placed dens farther away from the trees and those were fine. The endangered animals were a little difficult to see to catch them. Also, I wasn't sure about how far the spell's effectiveness was, but the animals did manage very well against the enemies without me casting it often!
Very nice! I'm very glad that you had a good bit of fun with our game and nice to hear that you ended with a perfect score too!
I don't think I ever spelled it out but when you catch endangered animals and out them on the Ark you get an Ark health recovery of 1 or 2 at the end of the wave.
Yeah when I wrote the spawner placement code I just followed the square tile collisions so when you hit the corners it will essentially make a nest on the ground haha. I mean to go back and adjust that some because basically all the playtesters mentioned that, but it didnt affect actual gameplay much so I chose to focus on balance and otherwise more.
Thanks again for the comment and feedback!
Hi,

It's good that we were saved on the ark, but we shouldn't divide animals into bad or good, they are what they are, that is, in the food chain. Everyone just wants to eat :).
Very well interpreted theme! The graphics and music are also good, as is the gameplay.
The only thing I didn't understand was that my first time I won right away on the first wave, I didn't do anything because I was just learning to play, how did it happen - without a clue :D.
Also at some point the game was a bit broken, I got this error, but I can't say why exactly, the next time I started everything from the beginning everything was fine.
Nice game, congratulations!
Great game! The graphics and music work well together and it feels like a very complete and cohesive experience. Here is some more feedback after playing a bit....
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
That is a pretty good point about the setup time and just letting it be unlimited until you place your spawners. We did want to have some sort of limit on it though, especially since the waves are time limited as well. On that note, an unlimited wave mode could be really fun and interesting. We may make that a bonus feature now! It gives that extra little sense of urgency while playing it. And you do get rest breaks immediately after a wave.
Thanks! It was a stroke of creative muster when we came up with how to integrate them in a day or two before the end of the jam submission period!
There is a way to tell when your cast is recharged but it is not readily noticeable by many people. If you notice the light blue orb floating on your top right, it empties and slowly fades back in as your cast recharges.
Yes, one or more of our game loop vars are getting crossed when trying to restart the game. Spaghetti code and such ;)
Thanks again for all of the feedback!
Very cool game idea. Good job :)
Nice game - I found that the animals did most of the work for me, except the final level where the difficulty seemed to jump up suddenly. I liked the ending - very satisfying!
Very glad you enjoyed it, and that you were able to win and see the ending too!
Yes, the friendly animals end up doing most of the work for you, but you do have to do a bit to help out.
Were you able to save any of the endangered animals that randomly show up? There is an Indian bat and a Hawksbill turtle that you can grab and put on the ark.
Yeah I I think managed to save a turtle and a bat (I initially thought the bat was an enemy but remembered what it was after seeing Noah carrying it)
this was an interesting adaptation of a famous tale from the bible! the gameplay was very interesting, at its core its an idle game, but every once in a while player needs to get involved for a perfect game which is what i appreciate, i love that noah can and needs to get involved, it kept me engaged and it solved a problem of enemy animals keeping my buddies at one side for a long amount of time. i also appreciate that you have to save certain animals and get them on the ark and that you made flood one of the main mechanics, very few of noah games actually do that (yeah, ive played a dozen lol). the ending sequence is also really sweet, nice reward for players journey. with less modest presentation, some rebalancing and more interesting upgrades, i could see this become its own thing. well done!
Sodoj,
Thank you so much for the kind and extensive feedback! Its good to hear what all you liked of our project and what could use improvement also.
I feel that we had to include the flooding itself somehow in the game, as a natural build and ending also. We are very fond of how our ending turned out also, so very glad you appreciate it also.
If you get the time, we would love some links or info to other Noah or Ark games you have played before!
Thanks! I'm happy to see someone enjoying the game and playing how I played!! I also find it interesting that you've played MULTIPLE Noah's Ark game😁. Thanks for the feedback.
Nice game! I was a bit confused how Noah was attacking, the birds were doing most of the work for me. Do the dogs bring in allies? Or why did I have other animals fighting on my behalf (or did I see that wrong?).
Noah attacks automatically when he is close to enemy animals (the ones with health numbers over their heads). You can also right click to cast a spell every so often (designated by if the little circle to Noah's too right is full dark blue or not, roughly 10 seconds I think) that hits a radius around where you click at.
The friendly animals that fight for you come out of the spawners (nests and dens) that you place around in the setup phase that happens before each wave starts.
Great game!
I loved finding the secrets.
The animation of a bat and the turtle I saved just a second ago was hilarious.
Thanks so much! Yeah putting in the endangered animals that you can save and put on the Ark idea came to me like the night before submitting lol
Glad that you enjoyed the game!
