Pretty game with nice audio. I kinda wanted to finish the game, but the terror of seeing the incomplete board without having any indication on where the missing pixels were demotivated me from continuing. I did see how in depth the game was, the npcs, and all the secret passages (which would’ve been fun to explore) but yeah, without the ability to know where i’d been, or even a map would’ve helped.

I worry a map would be too much, but I hope that in a future game that separating it into smaller more distinct areas and levels will help with knowing where you've been (which is kinda impossible in a giant cave system). Glad you liked the music! Thanks for playing!

REALLY nice art

The visuals and audio are very pleasing and create a lovely, chill mood. I had trouble playing it with a chill mindset though 😅, as I tried to keep track of all the paths I took and didn't take, stressing out that if I miss a pixel somewhere - I'll never be able to find it later.

That's actually my second attempt playing it, as the first time I delved straight into the caves and after a while realized that the world is quite expansive and had to take a break. This second time I started meeting characters, stumbling into secret paths and found the board with cells for all the pixels - and all of those were fun additions.

glad to hear it, sounds exactly what i was going for! I agree that the underground is way too big, I didn't really plan the map out, and eventually needed to find a place to hide over 100 yellow pixels for the door, which is why it grew so big. in skeddle adventure 2 I'll be sure to make the areas smaller and more self enclosed.

This is a cool entry! I managed to find everything except one black pixel and one yellow pixel, but I got wedged in a wall that wasn't quite solid. A few collision bugs aside, it was a pretty fun play through :)

This is very good looking game, the gameplay is a bit lacking and there some visible lack of polish in some places, but considering it's a gamejam game, it's fine.

i like :)

I LOVE THIS, I can't wait to keep playing

This was a visual feast. What it may lack in gameplay mechanics is totally made up with gorgeous sprites and color. I got lost underground, maybe some minimap or waypoint system could help there.

Developer

I think i went overboard with the cave system, it was just the easiest way to expand. it would probably be better to have it broken up into smaller more self contained sections, and other areas.

This game is adorable and super chill. I love it. The secret paths are well telegraphed, so it's fun to explore. The way the music changes in the secret areas is a nice touch. Wish I could find all the secrets but unfortunately I got stuck in a wall 😅.

(Also, just want to say, I really appreciate Lospec. As someone who is generally clueless about colors it has been an invaluable resource in choosing palettes for my jam games.)

Super cute! really enjoyable to just explore looking for secrets :D Its a bit tedious considering how many pixels there is to find, especially since many are hidden, but i suppose that is part of the fun. i think i may have found a bug, I found the paintbrush before the guy to give it to, he took it but didnt acknowledge that i found it.

Cool game Skeddles, It was really great to participate in a jam for lospec, a website i love so much :D
