Impressive amount of good looking pixel art, especially the introduction scene.

The gameplay itself is somewhat basic though, and at times a bit tedious due to enemies getting stuck in places where you need to get through.

I am also not entirely sure where the theme of the gamejam is applied, but that may be on me!

Amazing art direction in this game, I could look at it all day!

Great game, the controls are extremely tight and nice, I feel like it could've fit the theme a little more but I also might just be blind to what your trying to say. Great game though

Such a fun and simple game.  It was fun seeing new bizarre enemies after you complete a level. Good job!

This is amazing! It reminds me of an old retro Nintendo game! I don't remember what it was! But a very good implementation!

I really loved this! The fact that you can't die and restart makes the game far less frustrating than it could have been. The platforming felt solid and easy to get the hang of. Fantastic job on the intro and outro panels, and the ending was *chef's kiss* extremely satisfying. Nice work :)!

Excellent game! Great balance on the level of challenge. A little too much intro story for my taste, but i am impatient :-) and it was worth the wait to enjoy the game play. Really liked the ending when beating the game!

A very simple platformer that turned out to be more fun then I expected. Loved the variants of each enemy type and the overall story was lovable

I also loved that falling through the bottom transported you to the top.

One thing though is it got pretty dark at the end and was difficult to find my player.

This was great! I loved the penguins slamming into the wall, I'm not sure why there were penguins and space ships but it was fun. I loved that you didn't die but instead lost water, it turned a would be frustrating game into a blast to play! I love the concept and the art is a nice theme even if a bit rough.

PS I don't think there's any game that it's a bad idea to through in a dragon!

This was an interesting twist on the theme. It wasn't a perfect game but I found myself refusing to stop until I beat it, so I was definitely engaged throughout. I do have some minor feedback.

Here are my suggestions

  • Make the jump a little less floaty. It doesn't feel completely floating; you still have a good amount of control of how long your jump is and where it lands, but it doesn't feel as responsive as some other platformers like Mario or Celeste (high standards I know :]). This may be a framerate dependent issue (though I didn't notice any framerate issues), or simply tweaking the numbers that make up your jump calculations.
  • Slowdown enemy attacks a little bit OR add a more obvious telegraph to attacks. I liked that the attacks forced me to move, but the speed at which they came made it difficult to evade with intentionality. I often evaded them by mistake, which isn't what you want necessarily. If I evaded attacks very deliberately, the game would make me feel skilled and smart.
  • Make touching enemies take away less water than getting hit by an attack.
  • Once an enemy dies, wait a little longer before respawning it.
  • Combine more of the enemies that showed up together in one "fight". You had several enemies, but you only combined 2 at a time and didn't revisit old enemies that often it seemed. I may be misremembering, you had plenty of fight variety, but just an idea.

I would try these tweaks to make the game, but nonetheless its a very solid, beautiful, and well put together game.

This felt like an old school arcade game that actually wanted you to win.
I was smiling the whole time!

Great idea, I love how the flower is what progresses you up in levels. Great idea and execution

Wow, absolutely amazing. Func concept, well-made levels. Each level had its own theme and enemies, and I liked the difficulty, not too hard and not too easy even though you can't die (which I like cause it makes the game more casual)

The story, pictures, and music were on point, and I really love the end game where everything burns down. I don't know how you made that effect, but it was really cool.

The only thing that I'm trying to understand is the "Connection" theme? Was the player connecting with the flower? Like becoming friends? Hopefully, you can let me know if I'm wrong about that.

A+ Game

Charming, engaging, funny. Not dying from damage or falling is genius here! Tight mechanics and level design lend to great replay value. Penguins hitting the wall feel weighty and I love that! Great work!

Love the graphics man. Good job!
