The environments looked really nice, especially the mushroom area, and the movement was responsive and satisfying. It didn't feel like there was that much to actually do in the world, but it was still really fun.
Thank you for playing.
Loved the visuals! Sadly lacked everywhere else. This is really well done for a 10 day game but it wasn't that fun, everything felt empty and soulless, the lack of music didn't help, there was no insensitive to fight enemies and overall it lacks a lot of depth.
Still really impressive for the time, just wished you'd shrunk the scope and spent the time on making it fun.
Thanks for playing! We definitely overscoped and cut a bunch out the last day when we realized we would miss the deadline otherwise such as purchasing equipment from vendors like the blacksmith, more inventory, monster drops, the full storyline, music, more monsters and the boss fights (the AI we made for the bosses was too buggy to release). We hope to release a full 2.0 in the coming months and would love for you to test it out again at that time. ☺️
Even though the world is big, it felt empty as there was not much to do and no incentive to fight the enemies. It felt like I was just going from room to room, trying to find something... and all I found was the end of the game.
Thanks for playing. We definitely scoped too big and had to leave out content, making our game emptier than we intended.
Holy molly, I was not expecting a metroidvania. It was a little harder because some parts were hidden in my laptop screen for resolution. The controls feels clunky at the beginning, but one can get the grip soon.
We’ve added key rebinding in the escape menu. The game should also scale to any resolution (by adding black bars on the top or sides). If the window was too big for your screen, hitting escape and clicking fullscreen, or hitting F5 should fix that. I hope if you give that a test again you can let us know if that fixes the problem for you! Thanks for playing.
OH MY GOD! What an amazing game!!! And you guys made this in 10 days!!! I'm really impressed
Big props to the background artist; it looks fantastic. The game was quite a trek, too! Much more game than I anticipated, which is good because initially I didn't understand that I could reflect fireballs. Once I got that, I had a "OOOOHH" moment and showed those green guys who's boss!
Great entry!
wow very impressive, graphics look amazing also! doesnt even look like a love2d game
Please explain the "connection" theme of this game, I can't see any connection here.
We didn’t find the theme particularly inspiring, and as it is optional, opted to not focus on it. However, you can find the theme is used unintentionally as most of the levels within are game are physically connected to each other.
And the teleport _connects_ all levels!
Wow, very impressed! Very deep game levels, nice physics!
Same problem with the scancodes. Also Enter/Esc make nothing, cannot close the game. Maybe the way to change the keybindings.
Thank you, we’re working on some bug fixes that include key binding and closing the game.
very very nice metroid vania, impressive amount of content !!!!!!!!!!
nice slow dive into the world and story telling.
only thing, the combat could be more satisfying (shake on hit for ennemies, meaty sound effect, small dramatic slowdown of action)
One of my favorite sofar nonetheless! ^^
Encountered a crash after meeting the frog that tells of the prince (black background and platforms, blue love error screeen when changing game screen)
Beautiful art, especially the crystal lake. I didn't play to the end because I am not to good with platformers, but what I played was really satisfying.
When checking for user input, I would suggest to use the scancode to check what key was pressed. I am using the german keyboard layout and had to unpack the .love file and hack Input.lua to use 'y' for jump.
That’s good information to know, thank you
Nice game, but could you provide a way to end the app like escape key?
How did you make all that with LOVE?! Amazing!
A lovely start for a metroidvania game! Moving and navigating the environment feels satisfying. Really enjoyed the moment when I found the mushroom hut.
Were you able to find the Friendly Mushroom guy again at the ending?
Yep! It was cute 😄
