This is an interesting game.  It's cool that you experimented with your own engine.  I like how you used the jam limitations to make something unique.  The lack of a goal kinda makes this more of an experience then a game.

Bit weird to have started in the corner. It was enjoyable, some kind of goal would have been nice though!

This is more of a fun and interactive auditory art experiment, the colours and sounds are pleasing, and the emergent pixel patterns are hypnotic. Fascinating!

I never get sick of FM. I'd say your engine was a success. 

I wish you added a score for the game jam, but I'll just wait and see what you do with the engine in the future.
