Did you work in a team?
Nope! Just me. :)

Was the resolution a challenge?
Kind of! It can be hard to create UI in such a small space when each letter needs at least 5 pixels in height. I didn't have room for instructions, so I kept those to the game's webpage and tried to keep the controls fairly intuitive. Other than that, this game worked well for the small space since there isn't much that the player needs to see at any given time, and the pipes scroll toward the player from off-screen.

What did you learn?
This was my first time working with Pico-8's secret devkit keyboard! It's actually pretty easy to use, but it took me a while to understand how to access it.

What a nice twist on the classic! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Nice job, though I admit it's far too unforgiving for my blood. A combination of having difficulty making out some of the letters, and oftentimes the next letter being visible on screen quite late. With the speed you fall, it makes it really punishing.

Neat idea!

Hey! Game was good. But, maybe in the arcade level, you should at first check if a key is pressed before playing. Just like in Flappy Bird, it waits for us to interact at first then start the level. Its because you see your letter and fall for your death.

Disclaimer: I am a masochistic Flappy Bird veteran.

Creative take on the game, and very well polished. I think the physics and collision detection could be more challenging, and the maximum distance between pipes for Arcade should be shorter: Arcade's occasional long distances introduce random periods of button mashing that don't feel fair.  My high scores for Arcade and Classic were respectively (a well-earned) 82 and (an easy) 350+, which I think illustrate this point. I say 350+ because at that point, the game starts slowing down, which makes me wonder if you're deleting off-screen pipes?

Also, as a side effect of this game, M and W are now my least favorite letters of the alphabet :)

I would have liked to see something more original, but maybe you were making it to train your programming or design skills.

Even if it is a Flappy Bird clone, maybe you could have taken it in some interesting new direction?

Its really challenging but the simple mix up on controls makes the game really fun!

I finally learned how to type correctly, thank you.

It seemed simpler than the original.

Nice concept, a bit too punishing for me though. Bonus points for pointing out how to type!

Awesome concept and done right could be a cool typing learning tool but the switch is to drastic between one letter to the next

Very difficult! I found it hard to get started at first, as the reaction time between seeing the first letter and falling to your death was about 1/4th of a second
