Did you work in a team?
Chaz and Cat worked on this project. It was a super fun and challenging experience!

Was the resolution a challenge?
Mostly issues related to small fonts and small interfaces. Used a smaller font within Pico 8/also used smaller number sprites as a font.

What did you learn?
Learned many different things since this is my first game that I cannot remember now at this final hour. Seems like a good first brick in my education has been laid and many more need to be laid after this.

Nice “runner” alternative setting. The game is simple and the mechanics easy to grasp. Grphics and sound fit the theme and are quite good. Fire rate might be a bit slow considering the volume of astoroids you get but I’d say that adds to the challenge… maybe some penalty for missing asteroids, like G increases with the sun “eating” those could add to the challenge. Great to see more PICO-8 entries around!

Thank you so much for checking out the game! It is most appreciated that you would share your thoughts and feedback here. One of my thoughts post-jam is to add a difficulty selection. Maybe a hard path would include the mechanic that you speak of here. Thanks again!

Well done! I wish the song was a little longer so the loop didn't get old so quickly - but it is a good little tune.

Controls worked quite well (I played on mobile). The art is charming, though it is a little easy to lose track of your ship in the chaos. Perhaps it would be nice to use slightly more contrasting colors to help the player stand out when the screen gets busy (just spit-balling here). Was happy to see a boss fight and an end screen. It took me a few tries, but I got 1056 as my highest score. Great job here.

It is incredibly gratifying to hear that you beat the game and even bested my top score while knowing the game top to bottom!

Thanks for all of the constructive criticism and taking time to experience my game to such an extent. Your comment absolutely made my day!

This makes me wish I had tried using pico-8! Everything feels super retro, which I absolutely love! The sound design is great, the art is really well done and I could listen to the music all day!

I do wish it was clearer that when you took a hit you only got knocked back and not killed, but once I figured that out there wasn't a problem.

Great job!

Thanks for taking the time to play and comment! Yeah, you're right about there being less feedback in game about not dying when getting hit in some cases but then dying when getting hit in the end stage. Some things to work on for next time around!

Such a creative idea! I especially love that each level feels different to play. It can get surprisingly chaotic considering it's such a small screen size but just the right balance of enough to manage.
