Very lovely game. There is something serene and foreboding about the sun and the gamma snow. The static noise and pinging sound of the particles adds to the uncertain feeling. The heat wave visual effect that grows as you become irradiated works really well. I enjoyed adjusting the panels to create a wall for safety, and then jumping up as high as I could on top of them. Very well done.
I really enjoyed the look of this game with the very striking, stark black sun. The gameplay is fun and simple, which I like a lot, especially in a jam game. I can see this being expanded into something magnificent. Great job.
Thank you! Already working on expanding the idea, possibly for a small yellow handheld… 🟨⚙️
Oh nice. I should really order one of those :D
The game mechanics are great, the 1 bit art gives it a distinctive feeling that looks fantastic. when lowering a panel, you end up “trapped” in it, colliding with it I guess, until you raise it back… dunno if that’s intentional. Simple ideas make great games, congratz!
Thanks for the kind words! That bug is nNot intentional, but definitely was known; I let slide for the sake of time and prioritizing other work. 😂
Cool little game! I liked the 'ending', thanks for letting me stop lol. The audio was minimal, but really effective. Nice job!
Great style and concept. I might have exhausted all the shop items at 20k and then just waited to 100k. I loved the general atmosphere and the plinky plonky sounds. Quite relaxing
It's cool concept, very minimalistic and simple. I built a ladder out of solar panels and escaped the valey :D
My favorite thing about video games is that if you make literally any video game, someone will break the video game. Thank you, truly!
That was a fun lil' game. I can definitely reach 100k if I had the patience lol. I think an item that could help increase particle drops would be cool or something that could increase the power of gathering more particles per second like an idle game mechanic. Very unique art and the sound was really nice. Well done mate.
I quite enjoyed everything about this game! Definitely the most underrated game in the game jam so far. Everything from the atmosphere to the ambient noise to the super minimalist art style was just perfect. I wish there was more to do, or maybe more unique things to buy from the shop, but otherwise this was one of my favorite games from the game jam so far
I love the aesthetic, it's very striking in the best way, and the ambiance is almost soothing. At the risk of getting too poetic—alone, but not lonely, y'know?
Thank you! I’m glad that came through, there are story elements I didn’t have time to include that would have reenforced the solitary state of the main character. And honestly I got lucky with the audio (more details coming in a post-mortem); long story short, my hardware synth was giving me an annoying hum so I had to filter everything down, which resulted in a weirdly minimal, analog / vinyl sound.
