Themes
I used the "Attatchments on attatchments" theme. At first I wanted to make the cell the player plays as more modular, where players could place base body parts down, and then place flagella or mouths and such on those body parts. Kind of like how bubble tanks 3 did it! But everything I tried to make that work ended up extremely clunky and too difficult for me to implement. I learned a whole lot about vectors in this jam as well, so I'm really glad I decided to join!

Tools
Gamemaker. I love the workspace that Gamemaker offers, it makes development so much more digestible for me. Limitations wise I am not sure, I'm not experienced enough to know what I am being limited by, other than my own skills.

Lessons
Yes, I have a really decent time coding and making the art for games, but doing the actual game design is rough for me. I've decided to work on learning game design after I've worked on this.

Great go at a Spore-style cell concept, and I really liked your low-res rendition of a microbe world!

Cool but quite confusing :D

Really nice! Always wanted to make a cell game myself)

Wake up babe, new Spore just dropped.

Great use of theme, it was fun to roam around and see the various creatures, watch their unique behaviours, and find giblets to buy more mouths.

I love the visuals and dig the chaos. Great job on bringing all that together!
